edna
There´s also "Bob Dylan´s Dream" While ridin' on a train goin' west I fell asleep for to take my rest. I dreamed a dream that made me sad Concernin' myself an' the first few friends i had. With half damp eyes i stared to the room Where my friends an' i spent many an afternoon. Where we together weathered many a storm Laughin' an' singin' till the early hours of the morn. By the old wooden stove where our hats was hung Our words was told, our songs was sung Where we longed for nothin' an' were satisfied Jokin' an' talkin' about the world outside. With hungry hearts thru the heat an' cold We never much thought we could get very old We thought we could sit forever in fun An' our chances really was a million to one. As easy it was to tell black from white It was all that easy to tell wrong from right An' our choices they was few so the thoughts never hit That the one road we travelled would ever shatter or split. How many a year has passed an' gone Many a gamble has been lost an' won An' many a road taken by many a first friend An' each one i've never seen again. I wish, i wish, i wish in vain That we could sit simply in that room again Ten thousand dollars at the drop of a hat I'd give it all gladly if our lives could be like that.  Welcome! _Laurie_
In My Life ~ Beatles There are places I remember All my life, though some have changed Some forever not for better Some have gone and some remain All these places have their moments With lovers and friends I still can recall Some are dead and some are living In my life I've loved them all But of all these friends and lovers There is no one compares with you And these memories lose their meaning When I think of love as something new Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life, I love you more (Instrumental) Though I know I'll never lose affection For people and things that went before I know I'll often stop and think about them In my life, I love you more In my life, I love you more

edna
"Lather" - Jefferson Airplane Lather was thirty years old today, They took away all of his toys. His mother sent newspaper clippings to him, About his old friends who'd stopped being boys. There was Harwitz E. Green, just turned thirty-three, His leather chair waits at the bank. And Sergeant Dow Jones, twenty-seven years old, Commanding his very own tank. But Lather still finds it a nice thing to do, To lie about nude in the sand, Drawing pictures of mountains that look like bumps, And thrashing the air with his hands. But wait, oh Lather's productive you know, He produces the finest of sound, Putting drumsticks on either side of his nose, Snorting the best licks in town, But that's all over... Lather was thirty years old today, And Lather came foam from his tongue. He looked at me eyes wide and plainly said, Is it true that I'm no longer young? And the children call him famous, what the old men call insane, And sometimes he's so nameless, That he hardly knows which game to play... Which words to say... And I should have told him, "No, you're not old." And I should have let him go on...smiling...baby-wide.
