Wow! How is that one not yet there? I would have had it high, if not top spot, on the very first TT. I guess everyone has assumed (like me) that it's already there...

6 Lola - The Kinks

7 I Am The Walrus - The Beatles

8 Going to California - Led Zeppelin

9 Brown Sugar - The Rolling Stones

10 Yesterday - The Beatles

........................................

22 Strawberry Fields Forever - Beatles

(There were 4 Beatles songs nominated!)

It looks like that was a big week for catching up on missing songs. Well, those are all incredible songs, of course... so what were numbers 11 to 21? ;-)

thanks,

Actually, I will just say that the results for these two songs are very interesting. I'm having a mental block, obviously, because I can't even remember how "Things We Said Today" goes. Maybe I'm getting old...

EDIT: Okay, I had to look up the lyrics. Mental equilibirum restored.

Whenever we get to a milestone Top Ten, I wish I had participated in Top Ten #1. I started not to long afterwards, though. I think my first was #7 or 8.

My first nomination is an excellent track from an excellent album called Crime Of The Century:

Rudy - Supertramp (1974)

And, I guess I might as well follow it up with another excellent track from another excellent album called (What's The Story) Morning Glory:

Morning Glory - Oasis (1995)

So it took 100 more top tens for someone to think of Strawberry Fields again! :o I love to look back at that stuff. Thanks Dap & MC for the reminders of some great songs ... and some tough choices! I used to know, but can't remember now, what our very first #1 was?
