cadence8374
I was watching I Love the 70's 1970 and heard this song. I only heard one line, which is, "Don't cry for me". It's sung by a woman. Does anyone know what it's called or who sings it?
bazooka
Could this possibly be Don't Cry For Me Argentina from the musical Evita by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice? It was originally produced in the mid 70s (See the link. It might be the 1976 single of this song by Julie Covington). Madonna performed the Eva Peron role in the 1996 movie version. Jenny
Maybe it's "Don't Cry Out Loud" by Melissa Manchester. I don't know if 1970 was the year it came out, but it was a '70's song.
Tenacious_Peaches
JENNY! You are killing me...I love that song. Let's take a moment and sing, shall we? Baby cried the day the circus came to town, 'Cause she didn't want parades just passing by her. So she painted on a smile and took up with some clown, While she danced without a net upon the wire. I know a lot about her, 'cause you see, Baby, is an awful lot like me. Don't cry out loud, Just keep it inside, And learn how to hide your feelings. Fly high and proud. And if you should fall, Remember you almost had it all. Baby saw that when they pulled that big top down, They left behind her dreams among the litter. And the different kind of love she thought she'd found, There was nothing left but sawdust and some glitter. But Baby can't be broken, 'cause you see, She had the finest teacher, that was me. I told her: Don't cry out loud, Just keep it inside, And learn how to hide your feelings. Fly high and proud. And if you should fall, Remember you almost had it all.
