edna
1.Happy Xmas (War Is Over) - John Lennon it truly is IMHO one of the most beautiful non-traditional Christmas songs there is. I love that song even when it isn't Christmas. I totally agree with you Lea......It's a beautiful song...and very sad....Knowing that we lost John in December, and every year when I hear that song, it gets to me everytime.... Same here... and for most of us... it will be on Top, obviously. There´s only one song I love and it´s "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)" by John Lennon... but it´s very sad because he was killed short before Christmas... ...this is my nomination from last year... Carl
1) Christmas Wrapping - The Waitresses 2) Step Into Christmas - Elton John 3) It's Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home) - U2 4) Wonderful Christmas Time - Paul McCartney 5) Merry Christmas Baby - Bruce Springsteen 6) Christmas in Hollis - Run D.M.C. 7) Father Christmas - The Kinks 8) Blue Christmas - Elvis Presley 9) You're A Mean One, Mr Grinch - Thurl Ravenscroft 10) My D*ck In A Box - Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake Seems like it's a lot harder to come up with an original Christmas song these days - you kind of need a gimmick. Maybe that's because there aren't any really big Christmas specials anymore where these songs get played year after year to loads of families wondering if The Grinch will get away with it. Father Christmas - The Kinks 9. Blue Christmas - Elvis Presley 10. F**k Christmas - Eric Idle If I'd voted for my favourite songs, Christmas -- The Who would've been at the very top... but honestly, it doesn't have a thing to do with Christmas It mentions presents and children's eyes, yeah, but that's not the point of the song at all. I mean, at all.
Shawna
^^ yeah, I got that. I just voted for it because it's a song I really like. It would be I guess akin to adding a "Jesus Christ Superstar" song to the list because it's mentions Jesus.

Lucky
I love the list, all ten songs, but then I love Christmas songs regardless. You know, had it actually been submitted (rather than just as an aside), and been the original Bobby Helms' version, I would have had no problem with Jingle Bell Rock. It totally fit the guidelines. Oh well, we'll remember that for next time (if there is a next time ... ).
