ALL MEMBERS OF SONGFACTS ARE MOST WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE. The greater the participation, the more diverse, and more representative our top ten list is. We'd like to invite everyone to help us select THE SONGFACTOR'S CHOICE TOP TEN! :)

IT'S SIMPLE, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS:

* Nominate two songs that haven't made the Ten before ... Click here to view Every Song That's Made The Songfactors' Choice Top Tens (Artists). ... And here to view Every Song That's made The Songfactors' Choice Top Ten (Songs)

Yes, it's true, we now have two, two, two lists in one! :)

* When nominations close, choose your favorite Ten songs in order of preference from the Final Nominations and post them here. Points are allotted, 10 for your #1 song, 9 for #2, Etc. and our Top Ten is compiled from them. At the end of the voting period we'll announce The Songfactors' Choice Top Ten For that week.

Shanty ~ Jonathan Edwards (1971)...Also known as "The Friday Song"...Our classic rock station has played this tune every Friday for years...

Kid Charlemagne ~ Steely Dan (1976)... I think this may be a re-nom...It's such a cool tune...If you don't know it, give it a listen...If you do know it, you know it's a cool tune and you can enjoy listening to it anyways...

"Is there gas in the car, yes there's gas in the car" hehehe.. I love that line.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month~

As Tears Go By (1964)-Marianne Faithful, Breast Cancer Survivor

Loving You (1974)-Minnie Ripperton, who sadly lost her battle too soon.

A timely and worthy theme, so I'll add to it:

I'm the Only One-Melissa Etheridge (1994) - breast cancer survivor

And in honor of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, a song about finding the words to express remorse for one's mistakes:

Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word-Elton John (1976)

One of my oldest and dearest friend is coming to see me from France this week. She´s a breast cancer survivor and a real fighter. It´s also the month I lost another of my best friends to breast cancer. I won´t nominate anything in that line, but my thoughts are with all those women, survivors or not.

And in honor of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, a song about finding the words to express remorse for one's mistakes:

It´s Yom Kippur? :P I´ll ask for a free day in my job...

Happy Yom Kippur, Cyber...

"Angel In Blue" - J. Geils Band

"Showdown" - New York Dolls
