JumboXL
I created a Stones ringtone of Sympathy for the Devil, from Mick's first shout, ending right after the first phrase "Please allow me to introduce myself....".

Shawna
Is it hard to make a ringtone? I'd love to put some Roger songs to ringtones, but I've no clue about it.
Farin
no, it's not that hard 1. you need an mp3 of the song you want to use. 2. you need to cut the song down in length and size to the actual ringtone (you could eg use the Windows Movie Maker for that) and 3. you take that new ringtone mp3 and send it to your cell phone (either via cable or bluetooth, ...) clear as mud? blind-fitter
You make it sound so easy, I might even try it myself. My mobile is "Work Issue" (i.e. it doesn't belong to me). Should that be a problem, or can any mobile phone make use of a customised, personalised ring-tone? For the record: if I ever get this baby off the ground, my first ring-tone will be the intro to "Ace Of Spades".
Farin
it should work if your phone can play mp3s and if it's capable for file transfer from a PC (ie has bluetooth, USB-cable, infrared or whatever other possibilites are out there) but on the other hand, if it's from work it could be that they locked certain features that they deemed unnecessary for your job
blind-fitter
Allof a sudden, it doesn't look promising.
Shawna
no, it's not that hard 1. you need an mp3 of the song you want to use. 2. you need to cut the song down in length and size to the actual ringtone (you could eg use the Windows Movie Maker for that) and 3. you take that new ringtone mp3 and send it to your cell phone (either via cable or bluetooth, ...) clear as mud? Ummmm... how do I get an mp3 of the songs I want? What's Movie Maker? How do I cut the song down once I have the mp3? Sorry you answered my question now, aren'tcha? **Edit: don't bother yourself... I'm hopeless, and I own it. Edited October 7, 2008 by Guest
Levis
Windows Movie Maker should be on your system. If not, you can download Audacity - a free audio editing programme (I use it for certain spcialised tasks ) to trim the ends. If you don't want the hassle of downloading Audacity, I'm up for the task of trimming songs, since it shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes to do Once you have the cut file, you just have to use stylish technologies to send it to your phone. As for work phones, I'm not sure, but I doubt they'd disable any features on the phones they give out. Bluetooth is a fairly important business feature, and if they didn't want their employees to have it, it'd be cheaper to get them a lower end cellphone model. Logical, no? Tenacious_Peaches
This is what I use. If I can do it, you can do it, woman. I've got "Let's Stay Together" as Mr. Peaches' exclusive ringtone and the howl from "The Immigrant Song" for everyone else. I am thinking of changing it to "Brass Monkey". daslied
I used my expensive recording software to create myself a custom ringtone of (Young) Dr. Frankenstein and his monster singing "Puttin' On The Ritz". A year later I still laugh each time. Before that I had "I've got a special purpose!" from "The Jerk" and "Well, sometimes I get the menstrual cramps real hard" from "Raisin' Arizona". I giggled far too much to keep them, though.
