This stuff is timeless.... The Mills Brothers - "Cab Driver" My favorite piece of music ever, Santo and Johnny, "Sleepwalk" Acker Bilk - "Stranger On The Shore" This melody is just simply gorgeous... Percy Faith - "Theme From A Summer Place" I called a local oldies station and whistled this one to the DJ, and he cheerfully gave me the title that had been eluding me for years, Bent Fabric, "Alley Cat" This was Gramma's favorite, and she always wanted me to dance with her at weddings to it. I miss her, a lot..Hit it Al, Al Martino - "Spanish Eyes" This guy's voice makes me think of my Mom and Dad's console stereo, real oak, red cloth speaker grills, big as a chest freezer.. Jerry Wallace - "Primrose Lane" The prettiest father/daughter duo, Frank and Nancy Sinatra, "Something Stupid" I'm not a huge Sinatra fan, but I do love this song. I cried buckets of tears while Stranger on the Shore played and I still have the album of Al Martino with Spanish Eyes on it. It cost me $90 as I recall. My then boyfrend(later husband) was in Seattle and I was in Calif. Over the years, it's been interpreted in different styles by dozens of artists.
