Viaene
I uploaded these months ago without actually sharing them. The Vault is a band of friends of mine, still local and underground. But they made a demo with 3 songs: Substitute for love Longing for weekend nights I wouldn't recommand it

Levis
's funny - there are quite a few Soul Coughing videos on Youtube, but the one I tried to upload (thrice) got rejected all three times no matter what I did.
The Seeker
I just came across something... go to Account --> Manage Account --> Account Status "Your account is in good standing." So I suppose this means the rejected and copyrighted videos should be fine.
Lucky
Of course you guys noticed that right after the Warner Brothers thing lots of videos disappeared? We've begun checking to see if an artist belongs to Warner Brothers before uploading ... although they have so many smaller labels as well, you can't always tell. I've also begun assuming that if all you find are the live videos by a particular artist, then it's probably not worthwhile to upload a studio cut. It'll probably be rejected. Bluesy had one rejected recently, it was disabled, and then after a few days it was back. That was weird, but after that experience I won't delete rejected videos. You never know, they may re-allow it at some point.
Farin
Dearheart ~ Dear Reader you haven't heard anything from them yet, because they're gonna be famous next year this very obscure Indie pop song is now my second most viewed video. (of course that doesn't mean much, but still )
bluesboy
So we don't waste time creating a video that's just going to be rejected by Warner Music Group (WMG), here's 2 lists to check as you're researching if your new youtube idea will stay or be rejected in your youtube account. List of Warner labels Warner Music labels
The Seeker
WMG just took down my (very popular) Oasis video Their labels are Creation, Epic, Columbia, Sony BMG, Big Brother. As far as I know WMG doesn't have anything to do with those - Oasis are with Sony. So what's their problem?!
Levis
Sony BMG =/= Sony?
The Seeker
Well no, but Sony/BMG =/= Warner Music Group Ah wait... I think you misinterpreted my post.Oasis' labels are Creation, Epic etc, not WMG's. Edited January 25, 2009 by Guest

Lucky
It looks to me like Warner has insinuated themselves in one way or another everywhere. Seek, I found this : BURBANK, Calif. -- Warner Bros...... is very pleased to announce that it has signed a North American distribution deal with Big Brother Recordings, home of the multi-platinum, Award-winning iconic British rock band OASIS. The first new release under the deal will be the group's forthcoming studio album, Dig Out Your Soul, on October 7, 2008. The first single will be the Noel Gallagher-penned "The Shock of the Lightning," which will impact US radio beginning Mid-August. " read the article here So, it appears that it's the distribution thing that comes in to play as well. This really sucks. I've had clips of songs that are 30+ years old rejected. Fairly obscure songs. You know the artists themselves are probably more than happy for any exposure at all. The Seeker
Someone stop them! And why doesn't this only affect new releases? Ban DOYS, fine, but not something that was released 8 years ago... they didn;t have the rights then! Useless.
Farin
one of the first videos I uploaded was a Beck song from the album "Midnite Vultures" at the time I got a notice that it contains 3rd party content, but they won't take any action (it's blocked "in some countries" though) now I uploaded another track from the same album, and guess what? "Rejected (blocked by content owner)"
Lucky
Plus, if I'm understanding, it's only a North American distribution deal. So, why's it blocked in the UK? I've gotten messages that a particular clip is unavailable in "my country" ... why is this not the same thing?
The Seeker
They don't have a clue either. I got an email this morning telling me third party content had been identified but I needn't take any action (no mention of it being removed, nothing). You'd think they'd actually be nice enough to tell you they removed it, and not send out confusing emails all the time and go back on their decisions (='we'll just put ads, don't worry. -- Oh sorry, we'll remove it entirely now')

Earth-Angel
I've never made one, but one of my testers has. When I saw it, I put my head in my hands and wondered what the heck is wrong with this generation
Farin
because he did make a video, or because what the final product looked like? the 'videos' I'm doing merely consist of one (or more) pics set to music... I see it mostly as a way to give some more or less obscure music an easily streamable platform
jeffyb
"Cat meets ghost and Elvis" check it out! My video on you tube and feel free to check out my page. The Seeker
Sorry I won't let this lie, but I just realised that Sony upload their own songs to youtube. Now remember that I said Oasis belong to Sony and their sub-labels and that one of my Oasis songs was removed, and then Lucky found out that Warner had acquired the rights to some of the sub-label songs? So Sony WANTS their songs to be on youtube, they actively contribute to this, yet one of their bands' videos are being removed just because Warner shares the rights to one of their tiny little sub-labels? What?! That's ridiculous
