Ombre Vivante
Any of those songs is requested at my wedding and I'd have it annulled on the spot
Udo
I much prefer Shania Twain's For Ever and for Always to From This Moment On.
Shawna
I always liked Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood "In Another's Eyes." Or Meatloaf "Paradise By The Dashboard Light." Yeah... that's the ticket.
cyberjudge
FYI re: multiple recordings of these songs: Can't Help Falling in Love regained its popularity in the early 90's, thanks to a cover by UB40 (US #1), although the slower Elvis arrangement is more common as a wedding dance. Endless Love was also a #2 US hit for Mariah Carey & Luther Vandross. I Can Love You Like That was also a pop hit for All-4-One, who had also covered country-star Montgomery's I Swear. The Power of Love was recorded by various artists, including Jennifer Rush, Laura Branigan and Air Supply, before Celine Dion's #1 version forever linked the song to her. Our Love Is Here to Stay is an old George Gershwin standard recorded by many artists before Harry Connick Jr, in When Harry Met Sally, including Nat King Cole, and covered by daughter Natalie on her Unforgettable ... With Love album. And of course, I'll Be There was a US #1 for the Jackson 5 in 1970, the same year Mariah Carey was born.
Ombre Vivante
Sade's "By Your Side" is a much better selection than "No Ordinary Love." I get a wrong whorish vibe from that song, esp. since it was used in that crappy movie.
Udo
I believe my sister had Johnny Rivers' Swayin' to the Music as her first dance.
cyberjudge
My wedding song was a Linda Ronstadt duet, but not one of the Aaron Neville ones listed; it was "Somewhere Out There" with James Ingram.

Tenacious_Peaches
From a post I made back in '04. Mr. Peaches and I will be married 13 glorious years in October. He still melts my ice castles. My mother-in-law helped plan my wedding and was in charge of the person that sang during the ceremony. That was the least of my worries, so I gave her carte blanche to pick the songs. In the middle of the ceremony, this woman starts singing, and I hear my maid of honor quietly giggling behind me. She told me later that when she heard the song "Through the Eyes of Love", all she could think of was that it was the theme song to "Ice Castles", the stupid Robby Benson movie about a blind ice skater. It's a pretty song, but I still cannot listen to it without chuckling! Please, don't let this feeling end It's everything I am Everything I want to be I can see what's mine now Finding out what's true Since I found you Looking through the eyes of love Now, I can take the time I can see my life As it comes up shining now Reaching out to touch you I can feel so much Since I found you Looking through the eyes of love And now, I do believe That even in a storm we'll find some light Knowing you're beside me, I'm all right Please, don't let this feeling end It might not come again And I want to remember How it feels to touch you How I feel so much Since I found you Looking through the eyes of love

Tenacious_Peaches
Lynn Holly! The love betwixt the Peaches is a strong and beautiful love that is deserving of your heartfelt vocal stylings, m'lady. After all, you are the third member of our marriage. skybluesky
^I know that's not how you meant the above, but that sounds so Cinemax After Dark. I keep fighting the urge to open the window and belt out "KNOWING YOU'RE BESIDE ME, I'M ALLLLL RIIIIIIIGHT!" I'm not going to do that, but I want to.
