_Laurie_ Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 I like a few of her songs I must admit... Saw Blood, Sweat, & Tears along with Chuck Negron...they sounded great...the horn section was awesome, and it was FREE!
RyanTurtle Posted June 23, 2011 Report Posted June 23, 2011 I just ordered tickets for the Kanrocksas music festival. Two days of awesome music. The lineup includes (but is not limited to): Muse The Black Keys The Flaming Lips Ween Primus Flogging Molly Cage the Elephant The Arctic Monkeys Jack's Mannequin OK Go Fitz and the Tantrums And there are still more to be announced!
MuzikTyme Posted June 27, 2011 Report Posted June 27, 2011 Breaking Benjamin are coming to my town August 8th. But I just saw them June the sixth. They were awesome! I'll be there...again
TheLizard Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) Got tickets to see Death Cab For Cutie w/ Frightened Rabbit on August 7 and My Morning Jacket w/ Neko Case on August 12! Edited July 13, 2011 by Guest
RockyRaccoon Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Got tickets to see Death Cab For Cutie w/ Frightened Rabbit on August 7 and My Morning Jacket w/ Neko Case on August 12! HATEHATEHATEHATEHATE All of them are coming to Merriweather Post Pavillion (right near where I live) and I don't think I'll be able to go. I CAN'T AFFORD IT. Having a kid really sucks up your money. Other bands coming to Merriweather I won't be able to see: Ray Lamontagne, The National, Bob Dylan, Fleet Foxes and Wilco. At the very least, I'm seeing The Avett Brothers and Minus The Bear there. And maybe I'll get lucky enough to get tickets to Virgin Mobile Freefest which Cee-Lo, The Black Keys, Cut Copy, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals among others will be playing at.
TheLizard Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Merriweather is where I'll be going to see both shows. One day your kid will be old enough to go to cool shows with you. I'm sure you can wait until then.
WildChild80 Posted August 10, 2011 Report Posted August 10, 2011 I caught John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band last month. I'm now looking forward to catching Missing Persons at the end of this month. I might possibly go to see Dwight Yokam and Buddy guy in November at Orlando Calling.
miamisammy29 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 I caught John Cafferty and The Beaver Brown Band last month. I'm now looking forward to catching Missing Persons at the end of this month. Exactly where do you live?....1987? Nah, I'm just sh*ttin' witcha. I saw the Sweet last month, and I'm going to see Cheap Trick next month. (I live in 1977.) But you do still owe your newbie dues, punk! So, pay up!
WildChild80 Posted August 16, 2011 Report Posted August 16, 2011 Alright Mr MiamiSammi...Here's my granola bar and my chocolate soy milk! Seriously he played down here in South Florida which is kind of rare for him he mostly stays up in the new England area. Was a great show his sax's player Michael "Tunes" Antunes( If you remember him in the first Eddie movie as Wendell Newton) told me he was turning 71(he still plays the hell of that thing). I got his autograph and John Cafferty. How was Sweet? I would love to see Cheap Trick live I know Robin Zander lives here in Fl. Far as living in 1987...sometimes there only in my mind. I really dig all kinds of music and try to see different acts all the time. Saw Ziggy Marley couple months back and saw MGMT at the same time both were really good.
miamisammy29 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 (edited) Actually, Sweet was VERY good! New young singer; old fat bass player. They only played about an hour and twenty minutes....but that's, pretty much, all the music they have. I'd go see them again. I was gonna buy a shirt for the girlfriend; they were 25 dollars (not extremely high-priced compared to some others I've seen). Nice shirts, the Sweet logo in colored rhinestones.... Then I thought, "Hey, that's more than the ticket price! The tickets are only 20 bucks! No way, man!" So, the chick got nothing. She should have gone to show with me. Now, Cheap Trick f***in' rules, man!! This will be the 7th time I'm seeing them. They're playing alone, no opening band, it's on my birthday, and I'm gonna be totally sh*tfaced. This could be the best one yet! Edited August 26, 2011 by Guest
miamisammy29 Posted August 22, 2011 Report Posted August 22, 2011 Alright Mr MiamiSammi...Here's my granola bar and my chocolate soy milk! Yuck! It's okay for today, but tomorrow, you'd better have chocolate chip cookies and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich!
_Laurie_ Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 Skynyrd and Doobies Tonight!....I'll get back to you on how it was..
WildChild80 Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 That's not Skynard that's whats left of Skynard and bunch ex southern rockers from Molly Hatchett and 38 Special. I mean yes you get the songs, but little Johnny is not his big bro and never will be. I guess that's just opinion though, but I hope you enjoyed yourself Laurie.
_Laurie_ Posted August 27, 2011 Report Posted August 27, 2011 Yes...I did enjoy it....It was a lot of fun!....and yeah those are pretty big shoes to fill, but I think he's done an excellent job for his bro...
WildChild80 Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 (edited) Well I'm glad you enjoyed it! Rickey Medlocke is their guitarist now from Blackfoot he's good I'll admit that. By the way love your Badfinger avatar Straight Up by far one of my fav album's on vinyl. Edited August 30, 2011 by Guest
_Laurie_ Posted August 30, 2011 Report Posted August 30, 2011 Thanks WC!...and yes Rickey Medlocke was awesome!
RockyRaccoon Posted September 12, 2011 Report Posted September 12, 2011 Went to Virgin Mobile Freefest on Saturday. Got to see The Black Keys, TV On The Radio, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Two Door Cinema Club, Patti Smith and Okkervil River. Patti Smith wasn't that great, but everyone else was awesome!

RockyRaccoon Posted September 16, 2011 Report Posted September 16, 2011 Going to HFStival tomorrow. I will be seeing Dr. Dog, Minus The Bear and the best part.....THE AVETT BROTHERS!! I'm super psyched
miamisammy29 Posted September 19, 2011 Report Posted September 19, 2011 The massive flooding in the area has caused the Bloomsburg Fair to be cancelled this year. That means no Cheap Trick concert for me. MOTHER NATURE SUCKS!
TheLizard Posted September 25, 2011 Report Posted September 25, 2011 FRANK BLACK IS COMING TO NOTRE DAME
MindCrime Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 Just got home from the Uproar Festival with Avenged Sevenfold, Three Days Grace, Seether, Sevendust, & Bullet for my Valentine. It was an overall exciting show, they all played great, but I was mostly enthusiastic for 3 Days Grace.
RockyRaccoon Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 Just got back from seeing Parachute and Kate Voegel. My girlfriend took me to this concert, Parachute is her favorite band and I like them alright. But damn do they put on a good show. They were ten times better than I was expecting, incredible show.
chutzpah Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 The Pixies? If so, Whatever his name is now,he's good (different band)I saw him in Austin (loud) a little mellower but that's what happens.Bring some ear things.
