bluesboy Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Early next month it's Lucky's Birthday Extravaganza where we're going to a New Casino out in the sticks and stinking desert east of San Diego to see probably 1 remaining member and 3 younger guys in the 4 Tops and most assuredly 1 older member scooting out with a cane and 4 younger guys with The Temptations. We'll report back in 30 days.
RonJonSurfer Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 John Fogerty is putting on a free show tonight (9/2) at Pier 17 of The South Street Seaport in NYC. This is in support of a new album.
_Laurie_ Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Fogerty was awesome when we saw him last year!
RonJonSurfer Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 He is one of the all-time greats of rock and roll.
_Laurie_ Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 Oh yeah..and he still can rock...he was all over that stage...and he's an awesome guitar player too...
Lucky Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 I saw Fogerty & Mellencamp together a couple of years ago (thanks to RonJon's news, remember?) and it was a truly great concert, both of them were equally amazing, all things considered. If you have the chance to see him ... GO! As for this ... Early next month it's Lucky's Birthday Extravaganza where we're going to a New Casino out in the sticks and stinking desert east of San Diego to see probably 1 remaining member and 3 younger guys in the 4 Tops and most assuredly 1 older member scooting out with a cane and 4 younger guys with The Temptations. We'll report back in 30 days. This, coming from the young whippersnapper that he is. I better not catch him even tapping a toe that night, after this remark.
Elvish Posted September 4, 2009 Report Posted September 4, 2009 Two words... Farm Aid! This will be my first
Levis Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 High Vibes this Sunday. Annual music festival that takes place on my street. Not like 'down the road', but really ON MY (awesome) STREET. And it's free. So no transport costs, no ticket costs, walk everywhere and only pay for drinkies and munchies. Good plan. http://www.highstreetnorthcote.com.au/highvibes2009 It's my first time, I'm excited
Kevin Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 (edited) Blast and damn ! May yer ballasts go down like two Oxford Street girls or a mutinous crew on a isle... ! Edited September 19, 2009 by Guest
Levis Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Aw Kev, you'd have liked it. I saw a band called Rapskallion and they were true honourers of International Talk Like A Pirate Day. I suggest you look them up, I am certain you will love them.
Levis Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I also managed to fall in with a band of friendly hipsters who proceeded to contaminate my hair with smoke whilst asking for my hand in marriage, it was all very flattering, I had fun.
Levis Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 A Place To Bury Strangers. Next month. I might die of excitement before then.
Levis Posted January 3, 2010 Report Posted January 3, 2010 NO and now I have tix for Wild Beasts on the 4th. Some great bands play Oz in the summer.
