CanAm
In honour of the entertainers I saw last night, I give you the following nominations: You Wreck Me - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers I'm A Man - The Spencer Davis Group What a fantastic concert last night! At age 60, Steve Winwood still has an incredible set of pipes. And he is a VERY underrated guitarist. He performed this week's nomination as well as Can't Find My Way Home, Higher Love and a scorching version of Mr. Fantasy along with some new material. As for Mr. Petty, he is a laid back but highly entertaining performer. And what a band. I think Mike Campbell is one of rock music's most underrated guitar players. And Benmont Tench is a great keyboard player who is in demand as a session musician. Petty played most of his hits including Refugee, Running Down A Dream, American Girl, Free Fallin' Breakdown and Mary Jane's Last Dance. He also performed A Face In The Crowd which is one of my favourites and another underappreciated gem, this week's nomination. Laurie, I wish you could have been there. One of the best concerts I've seen in years. Petty's unusual voice, is still very powerful and he had no trouble hitting the higher notes.
OLD 55
oh I will have you eating your words one of these days Make that four And it's all the girls who are doing it. Definitely the stronger sex. (That's why we men let you do the housework without our getting in your way). .................................................. And I'm glad you enjoyed the Concert Ian. Steve Winwood certainly has a unique voice. 'I'm A Man' will be in my Ten. ................................................. Good to see you Jenny ! Come on b-f and Kevin and others. _Laurie_
Wow CanAm!...I bet it was a great concert...I saw Petty a few years ago and thought they put on a great show...Winwood was here last year but I never got a chance to see him.....And about underrated guitarist, I feel the same way about Fogerty...I thought he was awesome on the guitar, and his vocals sounded as good as they did years ago..... I will definitely try to squeeze those two songs in CanAm...I love them both! Edited August 13, 2008 by Guest

Lucky
I saw Stevie Winwood in 86 or 87. It was an amazing concert CanAm, and I know your experience was, with Petty as well. I'm so jealous! You've got a vote or two there from me!!
