johnnyguitar Posted June 6, 2008 Report Posted June 6, 2008 your mom was filled with pain and suffering I understand the humour in the riposte...my adolescent children use the same phrase all the time, and it can be very amusing when used in the correct context, unfortunately, it is also true. So, forgive me if I don't laugh this time. On a brighter note...written anything else we can tear the arse out of? Post it, post it.... I think you have taken this all very well and in the spirit it was intended. I am impressed. You are far braver than I am. Mind you, to write like that, you have to be!
Red Fish Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 yes johnny i intend to continue posting my poetry even if it is not appreciated because i enjoy
MuzikTyme Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 I'll say this once and one time only: Do Not let me see Anyone name calling again, in this thread or any other. I may just laugh and delete the comment. This isn't a place for quacking ducks. Fun, yes . . . Hmm?
Kevin Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 ... like the keystone cops -a bit late on the scene . Do you really want to say that now Muzik ?!
MuzikTyme Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Soltice isn't a word... phew... I was right, for once Hopefully, you have been right a tyme or two. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Back by popular demand . . . Soltice IS a word... I'll stand by it!
Kevin Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Sure , if you want to speak in a medievel style there , Chaucer , old chum ...
MuzikTyme Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Sure , if you want to speak in a medievel style there , Chaucer , old chum ... Wite ye not where there soltices a little town? The Canterbury Tales was good reading I thought, also.
Levis Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I shall repeat what I said: No, Muzik, 'soltice' is not a word. If you're trying to convince the general populace that it is a synonym for 'stand' you would use a thesaurus to prove your (non-existent) point.
blind-fitter Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 It is perfectly clear to anyone with an ounce of sense that Namahage's intended choice of word was "solace", which he spelt incorrectly. Any attempt by anybody to suggest otherwise is merely wilful obfuscation. On the subject of "soltice"; quite obviously, there is no such word, and this has been a particularly irrelevant, tangential digression. However, as Voltaire famously argued, "I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." If MuzikTyme wishes to persist in the mistaken belief that "soltice" is a synonym for "stand", on the strength of one, solitary, spurious and insubstantiable entry on the entire Interweb, who are we to deny him his idiosyncratic peccadillo?
Levis Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 awrite, fine, just because YOU say so :beady: (there was no need to delete my post though )
MuzikTyme Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Levy, I can guarantee my word that it wasn't me. Had it been me to delete your post you can bet it would have NEVER been retrieved. I quite find your persistence in being wrong fascinating!
Levis Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I find my persistence in taking your bait more fascinating Anyway (forgive me, B-F): http://thesaurus.reference.com/browse/soltice
MuzikTyme Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I find my persistence in taking your bait more fascinating Then eat, guppy SOLTICE
Levis Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 No, Muzik, 'soltice' is not a word. If you're trying to convince the general populace that it is a synonym for 'stand' you would use a thesaurus to prove your (non-existent) point. Okay, I'm done.
The Seeker Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I'm doing my best... thanks for encouraging me though
