From Jesus Heart

My Name is Jesus

I came in with peace in My heart,

I came to lead the lost to a home,

I came to give not to receive,

I came to accept not reject,

Why do they hate Me so?

Why do they shout My Name in vain?

What I did I do that was so wrong?

What do I do that is so wrong?

I know you see Me when you look in the mirror,

I know you fear what you don't understand,

I feel the fear you have of death,

I love you and cherish your every breath.

So when you laugh at Me and mock Me into shame,

Remember that My Name is above all Names.

One day a judgement will unfold,

Everything revealed and written in bold.

For those that have rejected Me still,

I can do no more than I did on that hill.

My Name is Jesus

I live in peace, I leave you with peace to claim.

I lived and died and rose in your Name,

I would sincerely hope that at very least...

-you could simply respect Mine.

I like the way you changed the common perspective and let us look inside the heart of Jesus, to see what he thinks. It's interesting how you point out the irony of 'the passion' in the first verses.

I can't really find myself in the common ways the church wants us to think about Jesus ( "Remember that My name is above all Names. etc.) but I think we can show the required respect for an influencing man and the religion he stands for.
