Ashley Rae
I was at a graduation on Friday night, and heard a song, sung by a female, it was a slower song, I'm not sure what it was tho. I'm trying to remember the lyrics, but I know it said something about This not being your home anymore, and I remember something about 15, 12. Which I assumed was military time, but again, I'm not sure. It also mentioned something about treasuring the time you have or something because you never know when it's gone... I know it's not much to go on, but anyone have any suggestions? Thanks much! ~*Ash*~

Ashley Rae
Thanks for the help, it's really bugging me, I'm trying to recall an exact line from the song, but it's just not working... And I believe the song doesn't say going home, but it might be something along the lines of "This isn't your home anymore." ~*Ash*~
MuzikTyme
Can you give us an idea of what year the song may have been popular as well as the tempo and number of members possibly in the band? Need a slight bit more info. Think, thanks and welcome to SongFacts!

MuzikTyme
Then hopefully, we can all put our great minds together and come up with the answer to Ashley Rae's question.
Ashley Rae
Well I heard it at Graduation this past Friday, and it was a high school graduation, so I'm assuming it has to be recent. And it appeared to be just a solo female artist. Also tempo was slow. ~*Ash*~ Edited May 20, 2008 by Guest

_Laurie_
Was this song played during the graduation ceremony or at a graduation party?
Ashley Rae
During the ceremony. There was a moment when all the graduates gave their parents (Or grandparents, whoever was their guardian) roses, and this song was played during that point. ~*Ash*~
logan01
Was the song performed by a female guest at the ceremony or was it a cd, etc? The 15:12 you speak of; was this high school a military academy? Have you tried contacting anyone involved with the logistics to learn the song title/artist? edna
Ashley, if I were you I´d contact the school where the graduation party took place. I´d contact the person in charge of the music and tell them I´m looking for a song I heard there...
skybluesky
Ask for a program. Graduation ceremonies usually offer detailed programs complete with music played at the ceremony.

blind-fitter
"You've abandoned me, love don't live here any more" "Love Don't Live Here Any More" - Rose Royce, is soft, slow tempo, female singer, etc. Great track: I believe I may have nominated in a SF Top Ten once. Though, come to think of it, it would be a mite tactless to play "Love Don't Live Here Any More" in this context.
Ashley Rae
Ok, yeah, would've never found this, only found one place online that had the lyrics, and it was a PDF file. Tracked down the grad I went to see and asked her, it's called "You Think This is Your Home" by Blair Woods. Here are the lyrics: You Think This Is Your Home By Blaire Woods Looking at these white washed walls you see, time has left its mark while we've been here, but we never stopped to notice. Finger prints upon the keys and Cracks in the floor and ceiling and Streaks of rain and dirt upon the window. You never realized this before; that you don't belong here anymore. You think this is your home, but it won't be for long. Cause everything starts changing just as soon as you belong. Here at 1512, we can all be ourselves. Living in a moment, Forgetting everything else. Now the room is packed and put away. Still you feel there's so much left to say to the people you are leaving. Looking at the place you've come to know, It's nothing much but you made it your own. You'll lock the door and leave it all behind you. Walk down your street once more. Time to venture out into the cold You think this is your home, but it won't be for long. And you cannot take with you what you have to leave alone. Here at 1512, We can all be ourselves, But everything keeps moving on and on. Remember what they say. Soon enough these faces fade away to the days that are kept waiting. Take a step down this familiar ground; one last chance to take a look around before you walk to the edge of what you know. You never realized this before, But you'll never walk this path anymore. You think this is your home, but it won't be for long. So take a look around you cause soon it will be gone. I had to park my car, to think before I drove away. And this is who I am, I am one of us just as you are one with me, We're one wherever we go. Wherever we go..... We think this is our home, but it won't be for long. Cause everything starts changing just as soon as we belong. I'd rather lose with all than ever win as one. I'd rather cry with many than smile on my own. Here at 1512, We can all be ourselves, But everyone keeps moving on and on... Again tho, thanks for everyone's help! ~*Ash*~
