Ummm....here's some more.

The first one doesn't have a title, and isn't nearly as good as the second one.

I wrote the first one a couple nights ago, the second I finished approximately *checks watch* five minutes ago.

Woke up today, feelin' useless down in useless mode

I've been walkin' down an endless winding road

Can't get into your head, an unbreakable code

All of this has put me in an overload

Chorus:

Lifes been chasin' me just like a hound

Bad lucks beatin' me pound for pound

I guess that someday I will be found

But no champagne will be where I've wound

I just wish I was victory bound

Just don't want to go without a sound

Ridin' on the faith train has got me nowhere

No matter what, Ill always go for the dare

Not to whine, I'm sure that life is strangely fair

'cause it sucks for everyone, like I care.

Chorus

I'm more than this, at least, I hope that I am

There's just got to be some way outta this jam

But right now it's like I'm stuck in my own 'Nam

The flood waters of my soul, blocked by a dam

chorus

I just can't move anymore, my legs are broke

The pain in my ribcage, makes breathing a joke

My face, my lip, where blood decided to soak

My eyes boodshot and heavy, I never woke

chorus

Temper got the best of me, didn't get far

Got it's vehicle, from that fast careless car.

Woke up, blinded by black, facedown in street tar.

On this earth i'll be remembered as a scar

chorus

All she said was that I can't carry the weight

I said it's my remper's fault along with fate

And that I'm simply depressed, not filled with hate

Now I feel like I'm knockin at Hell's gate.

Now the previous song is really really depressing, and it's very autobiographical in nature, but readin' it now makes me feel like crap :) but just this night I was fiddlin' around in my notebook, and then inspiration struck I started scribbling down phrases over and over franticly (like, for example, I wrote down 'surrender' about 250 times on a page of notebook paper, and various other stuff like that) and then this next one just snapped into my head.

This one is great when coupled with the previous one, because this one represents hope, and even though parts of it are depressing, and angry, or whatever you want to call it, that's what life is like, but in the end there's always hope, which is what this song ends on, hope. I like this one because the first part of it is very symbolic kind of crypric, but as it goes on the references become more and more obvious.

I call this

"Don't Give Up"

Just remember that at the end there's hope

So at the start you will just have to cope

With the hand you've been dealt, don't have to mope

'cuz someday we'll be saved, by the phony pope

He'll come dressed in gems, peddling Jesus soap

to wash us dirty, sell Christ on a rope

Chorus:

We must not surrender our souls

regardless of the cost

without our spirits we're just holes

without them, we're all lost

Preaching my knoweledge; don't give up, my friend

you are safe, hope is just around the bend

'cuz the one true savior is here to fend

off the phony pope, isn't here to vend

himself and the fake Christ, he's here to mend.

Dressed in rags, tyranny is at it's end

chorus

Remember, beware of the false sweetheart

'cuz infliction and pain is what she'll start

Once she gets you! Steals your precious art

like she did to him, she's sweet like a tart

He's dead, she'll end up livin' in a cart

She was accused, but the courts played their part

chorus

Just watch out for the opiate disease

because it's rewards are not worth the fees

That will leave you just shakin' at the knees

The roster crooned his last breathe in a weeze

Sprawled out on the floor, green hands gripping keys

to his broken soul "Someone help me please!"

chorus

The prince snuck up and stole it from the wood

He cried foul and tried ev'rything he could

Nothin' kept the Prince from the winner's hood

it didn't fit, markets no longer stood

In place, The Prince cried out aloud 'They would'

Have a small lockdown for the public good.

chorus

Lizard rode the snake for just awhile

He was on the Earth, a timeless style

Lives on today, hear it by turning dial

With eyes, watched him fall, lungs filled with bile

It blocked his spirit, booze cured denial

Was lost to the contents of a vial

chorus

There's hope now, 'cuz we're all almost famous

They know us now, they all try to name us

Call us young and stupid, who can blame us?

Phony walks the street, he tries to flame us

Savior loves us all, attempts to save us

Sweetheart's goin' down, but she will frame us

Rooster and lizard dead, they both shape us

The prince, gains more power, he will slay us

ou and me, we've got hope, we will claim us.

For ourselves

For ourselves

For Ourselves

For Ourselves

Chorus.

We are all lost

and there's no cost

we are all lost

and there's no cost

we are all lost

and there's no cost

all lost

no cost

all lost

no cost

lost

cost

lost

cost

we're a lost cause

The savior protects our souls

The foe wants us to be holes

The savior protects our souls

The foe wants us to be holes

The savior protects our souls

The foe wants us to be holes

The savior protects our souls

The foe wants us to be holes

smilin' souls

empty holes

smilin' souls

empty holes

souls

holes

souls

holes

souls.

Well, I figure I wanted to inspire a *little* bit more discussion than I did, so I'm gonna talk a little bit about the second one "Don't Give Up"

I think of it as an unfinished work, a few more verses would really fit in nicely, but what I'm going for is a contemporary American Pie kind of, I want to be able to sum up the last 30 years in song.

Some of the references are easy to get, some are not.

Some of the 'symbols' refer to one person, some do not.

For example here are a few

The phony pope does not actually refer to a person (or the pope) it refers to all those who use religion in a false pretense, be it Osama Bin Laden, or any other religous leader.

Now the savior that is mentioned in the next verse doesn't actually refer to Jesus, it refers to many people, that's the people who actually want to try and fix the worlds problems, the idealists so to speak.

The false sweetheart, this one, depending on your area of knoweledge, can be easy or hard. It's a reference to non other than Courtney Love (who newest album was entitled 'America's Sweetheart' get it?) now all the references should fall into place on that verse (if they don't, no offense, but you're a moron)

Next verse is about heroin, but it specifically mentions 'The Rooster' which is an obvious reference to Layne Staley, the lead singer of Alice In Chains ('Rooster' was a popular AiC song) he died of a heroin O.D. recently

The wood refers to 2000 presidential hopeful Al Gore, the Prince of course is an obvious reference to the current U.S. president (it's a reference to Machavelli's "Prince" which is where we get the phrase 'The Ends justify the Means") All the other references of that verse should be obvious now.

The Lizard is pretty obvious, but for your information in case you don't know, it's Jim Morrison, pretty obvious Jim references in there.

And then it ends with a final 'part' (as I add verses I will add more lines to that final bridge) to kind of sum up everything, and then it goes into some 'Lennoneque' mantras.

There, now somebody please try to initiate a conversation, there is still many things that could be discussed.

Oh yeah, and for fun, if you're like Gillian, and like the first one best, on that I was basically taking cues from other songs and fitting them in as reference points, some of the song references are easier to see than others (I make a pretty easy one to Oasis' Champagne Supernova in the chorus, a harder one is in the last verse when I reference Tom Petty's "Won't Back Down" 'cuz I messed with the line a little bit more)
