Levis Posted April 26, 2008 Report Posted April 26, 2008 I'm just back from record shop hopping in the city. I know I'm supposed to be a destitute student but - kid in candy store situation here: Second Coming - The Stone Roses They had the debut as well as Garage Flower (which I didn't even know existed till now) but I controlled meself and from the same store also bought: Electro-shock Blues - Eels I haven't even heard it yet but the little booklet already has me all blue. With the few dollars I hard left, I returned to the first store I'd been to and picked up a copy of the March issue of Mojo which came with a free CD called: Beloved - A treasury of classic British indie rock featuring: The La's, Felt, Wah! Heat, Teardrop Explodes, Orange Juice, Jane, Half Man Half Biscuit, The House of Love, and then some... So you see... I'm completely set. Broke... but set [smaller](except for the remaining two Stone Roses albums... donations are welcome)[/smaller]

Farin Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 A User's Guide to They Might Be Giants finally not just some randomely put together tracks from here and there btw, strange that having it delivered from Dundee comes me cheaper than from anywhere in Germany... let alone buying it in a store... things that make you go hmmm...
katie_sane Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 Gold Medal by The Donnas Gold by Squeeze [Greatest Hits] - Still waiting for them to come in the mail.

Viaene Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 I bought In Utero - Nirvana, well at least I thought I did I was in Amsterdam this weekend and I found In Utero in a record store for only 6 euros so I bought it. However, the store clerc put "From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah" in the cd box So now I'm back home and I open the box, realising it's the wrong cd..
miamisammy29 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 And In Utero's their best record Possibly....but "From The Muddy Banks of the Wishkah" is a pretty kickass album, too!
Blue Fish Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 Praise and worship Vol 3-a CD madew by my boyfriend for me!
Ombre Vivante Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 He made a cd to praise and worship you?! Whoa
katie_sane Posted May 7, 2008 Report Posted May 7, 2008 Dream Days At The Hotel Existence - Powderfinger Hook Me Up - The Veronicas Just supporting some Aussie music acts. The Powderfinger album is great, listened to it all afternoon while cruising around town with my best friend. The Veronicas isn't something I'd normally buy..Top 40 generally doesn't attract me, but this is okay poppy stuff which my friends like, so I'm getting into it a bit too.
Blue Fish Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 He made a cd to praise and worship you?! Whoa Not to praise and worship me!! A praise and worship CD.........for me!
Ombre Vivante Posted May 10, 2008 Report Posted May 10, 2008 Man, my last order for Monni and Wonderbird cds was cancelled! FTS! I'll have to drive over to LA and see if it they have them in the store.
Levis Posted May 16, 2008 Author Report Posted May 16, 2008 Who's happy? I'm happy... ecstatic more like Suede - The Singles 21 tracks! and Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches - Happy Mondays In the interest of budgeting I had to leave behind Keys To The World, Pet Your Friends and Third. However - Suede!! Mondays!! these things are NOT easy to find!! I am all sorts of happy!
Viaene Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 congratulations with you're finds Levis! I borrowed Dummy - Portishead Uh huh her - Pj Harvey Bubblegum - Mark Lanegan Band from a friend, I love her for that!
Farin Posted May 16, 2008 Report Posted May 16, 2008 woohoo for Dummy and Uh Huh Her don't know about Mark Lanegan, maybe a woohoo too
Ombre Vivante Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Those were excellent buys. I would suggest, however, to just go ahead and buy every album and single with b-side Suede has put out
Levis Posted May 17, 2008 Author Report Posted May 17, 2008 I'll probably have to download the B-sides, but I'll work on the albums of course. Also, of course, it may take a while since Suede isn't the only band I need every album of.
