The Seeker
Ya know, I think I only have one song per artists also....I eliminated Stones and Beatles...I love the Stones and Beatles, but I would like to see the other songs get some recognition also.... Oh and Seek?..I didn't eliminate The Who..I have a Who tune on my lista... Very good
skybluesky
Good thing I left The Who off my list. I've got my list done with only one song per artist, and one artist appearing twice, once in his usual group and once in duet.
_Laurie_
There's noway I'm going to be able to alphabetize 50 songs by hand...there must be a simple way to do it...when it comes to computer stuff...I have no idea on how to do it.... Oh list maker master Shanny....How is this done???
The Seeker
It doesn't take long.
skybluesky
Well, Laurie, I'm a compulsive nerd, so I have lists of songs on my computer for various reasons. I think you could just copy/paste songs from sites on the internets and then cut/paste to alphabetize them. Do they have to be alph order or can we do chronological? The Seeker
You can use Excel though, if you don't want to do it by hand.
_Laurie_
Seeing how its a "personal list" I don't know why it would have to be in any kind of order...but then again it does look better...
skybluesky
Laurie, yours should be easy-just type "Every song by Badfinger."

Levis
You CAN have the the same songs as someone else you know? Why you like to place so many restrictions on yourselves?

Levis
Everyone's so excited! Patience folks... we've got 19 volunteers, and if everyone's clear on what this is we can start off this week Right then, pop quiz: Q. How do the Personal Top Tens Work? skybluesky
I was just teasing Laurie cause we both had Neil, and she nom'd Sugar Mt. a few weeks ago. I don't think I'll over lap with any one on songs at least. Some artists for sure though.

bazooka
Eek! It's not that hard folks ... You can pull those songs from memory, or, if your brain doesn't function well enough to just come up with 50 off the top of your head, go back and look at what you nominated ... OR if your brain still doesn't want to function that much, WE can do it for you (not as much fun, maybe). This list can be compiled by the SFer on their own or the TTT (Top Ten Team) can pick out their last fifty unique nominations in the regular tens ... Suggestions to improve the concept are welcome. Any chance the T3 could supply me a list of all my nominations, so as I could winnow the mass for 50 faves? My brain might function much more better in that mode. In any case, you can count me in this folly.
Lea
Q. How do the Personal Top Tens Work? There is no winner with this one. It is mainly to show each participants personal taste in music. The only winner will be the most chosen song from each individuals list. We all win. The music is chosen from whatever each of us like. Be it from our top ten nominations and winners or anyone's top ten winners. Or, we can choose the songs from our on personal library. Any genre, any year, any artist, anything goes. Dosen't matter if everyone here chooses the same songs on their list because it's what you like. So, if you choose the same song as someone else it just means your not the only one that likes that song. So, how'd I do? Do I win the prize? Tenacious_Peaches
^ What she said. My question is are we all going to commit to voting every week? It's easy if a Songfactor has songs that everyone knows and loves, but what if a gal (or guy) has a list fraught with Ready for the World and Leo Sayer and Justin Timberlake and Goo Goo Dolls songs? Can all you hard donkeyed musical snobs handle such dreck? I think if you want to participate you have to promise to vote every week. Edited April 27, 2008 by Guest To clean up my filthy language. c_s_1987
Also, alphabetising lists on Word is actually quite easy. In Word 2002 and most versions of word around that time, you just highlight the list, click on the "Table" tab, click "Sort" and click "OK".
