KentH
I heard a song over the weekend that I really liked, but I have been unable to find lyrics or artist. It's a male singer, likely from a group, and probably a '70s rock song. I only remember a portion of the chorus and it runs something like this: Caught up in a (the?) slipstream, (Looking like?)a bad dream Any help? Edited February 5, 2009 by Guest W00t! KentH
BTW, I know it's not "Slipstream" by the Sutherland Brothers and Quiver. I love that song; it's just not the one I want!
Farin
is it "I ride in your slipstream" by Richard Thompson?
KentH
That's not it, but thanks for replying.
miamisammy29
Jethro Tull has a song called "Slipstream". It's only about a minute and a half long, but those don't sound like the same lyrics. Van Halen has a tune called "Everybody Wants Some", where they mention moonbeams and jet streams, and sh*t like that (With Diamond Dave's choppy vocals, it could easily be mistaken for "slipstream".....or a million other things, for that matter). Might they have said one of those instead? Just a shot in the dark.
Batman
I think it might be a Dave Matthews song or a Jethro Tull song (try Thick as a Brick)
scott
Pavement- Starlings in the Slipstream of the album 'Brighten the Corners' I really doubt it's it, but the lyrics in that song are a lot like the one you described.
KentH
I know it's not Tull, Dave Matthews, or Van Halen.
miamisammy29
I think it might be... ...a Jethro Tull song (try Thick as a Brick) Yeah, and be sure to listen to it from start to finish....twice. That line could be hidden in there just about anywhere.
KentH
Yeah, and be sure to listen to it from start to finish....twice. That line could be hidden in there just about anywhere. Which means I'd have to listen to the whole album....twice

skybluesky
Here is all the songs leoslyrics has with the word slip stream slipstream songs But I'm thinking, based on the op, it's this one~ Threshold - Slipstream Are you drifting, is there nowhere to go Life support is down and your systems low Are you cruising on your secondary cells Waiting for the bell (oh do you really think so) Flatline your illusory mind Dreams are for the bold and you're not that kind Disappointment has a house on that road Best to stay at home (oh do you really think so) You're safe and warm inside Your chances pass you by The questions fills your mind Are you caught in the slipstream Are you lost in the fog Can you see through the windscreen Are you sure it's safe to follow somebody's taillight Are you already lost When you get to the daylight Will you recognise the world you walked across Are you listening with your head in the sand Drown the words you don't want to understand 'til the sound stops, is it safe to come out Nobody's about (oh do you really think so) Too late now there's nowhere to go Life support is down and your systems low And your fuel light say you'll never get home Now you're all alone (oh do you really think so) You're scared to stay inside Your chances pass you by The question fills your mind Are you caught in the slipstream Are you lost in the fog Can you see through the windscreen Are you sure it's safe to follow somebody's taillight Are you already lost When you get to the daylight Will you recognise the world you walked across You're safe and warm inside Your chances pass you by The questions fills your mind Are you caught in the slipstream Are you lost in the fog Can you see through the windscreen Are you sure it's safe to follow somebody's taillight Are you already lost When you get to the daylight Will you recognise the world... Penny for the dreams you thought you'd lost Penny for the peace you thought you'd see Penny for the price you thought it cost Penny for the one you though you'd see Pity for the times you kept it all Pity for the wealth you though you'd get Pity for the day your empire falls Pity for the day your life got caught
KentH
No, it's not the Threshold tune. The words I originally posted that are not in parentheses are the correct lyrics.
_Laurie_
Tesla maybe??? Tesla - Caught In A Dream lyrics If you can imagine this, The whole world sharing one big kiss These are thoughts all through my brain, that I daydream everyday that I'm alive and well Right now I'm alive, I'm feeling, [well] it's my live to live my way so I'll keep daydreamin' away And who knows maybe someday it will all come true, and I will get my way And we will live as one CHOURS [i'm caught up in a dream] I'm gonna wish for it all No one's gonna tell me how No way this is my dream now [i'm caught up in what seems], simply impossiable I aint gonna change a thing No way, it's is my dream And what can not will be done for every living thing under the sun Forget color, forget race, and just be one big happy face, among this sea of people, live among Gods creatures Sharing love, that was sent down from above here to share with one another Father, brother, sister, mother, everybody sharing love Sharing love.. (Chours) This is my dream.... I close my eyes, and everything will be alright Here in my fantacy, livin' in harmony, will make my dream come alive Whoa yeah... (Chours) (Chours) Now if can imagine this, the whole world sharing one big kiss Take away the pain and hurt, Make like heaven here on earth Without reason to die and give it ever-lasting life to all Tesla Video

Jenny
How about this one: Queen of The Slipstream - Van Morrison Youre the queen of the slipstream With eyes that shine You have crossed many waters to be here You have drank of the fountain of innocence And experienced the long cold wintry years. Theres a dream where the contents are visible Where the poetic champions compose Will you breathe not a word of this secrecy, and Will you still be my special rose? Bridge Goin away far across the sea But Ill be back for you Tell you everything I know Baby everything is true Will the blush still remain On your cheeks my love In the light always seen In your head? Gold and sliver they placed At your feet my dear But I know you chose me. Instead Goin away... etc. Youre the queen of the slipstream I love you so You have crossed many waters to be here And you drink at the fountains of innocence And experienced, you know very well

KentH
I finally found it! The song is, oddly enough, "Slipstream," a solo effort by Hollies lead singer Allan Clarke. It's a song on his 1979 album Legendary Heroes. Made it to #70 on the charts. We were together then, But that was long ago. Now I listen to the wind As it cries to me in vain. She's uptown now And moving on again. Caught in a slipstream, Moving to a bad dream. I wasn't ready for the jet lag, The worst trip I ever had. KentH
Lucky, I found it when a friend sent me the following link I think you'll enjoy: http://classicsshow.com/ It's a site with short clips of KSHE Classics. It's pretty extensive. he said it might take me years to find the song, but I found it in about 10 seconds.
