MarcM Posted April 22, 2008 Author Report Posted April 22, 2008 I am sure you could find a woman who wears leg warmers and heels only. It will cost you, though.
Levis Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 13 degrees C... 55 F. This is what Delhi winters are like! And it's only 'autumn'
skybluesky Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 It's been rather grey and over cast lately and we've had mild snow the last two weeks. Not a very springy spring here.
MarcM Posted April 27, 2008 Author Report Posted April 27, 2008 It is freakin hot here. It is supposed to be 100F tomorrow. I picked a great day to meet up with some people in the Mojave!
The Seeker Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 I just wanted to look out the window, but I couldn't see anything... it's all white. Such a thick fog... I can't even really see any trees or other buildings. Where did that come from all of a sudden?
Lucky Posted April 27, 2008 Report Posted April 27, 2008 It's supposed to be 85 here, on the coast. That's very unusual. Most of the homes here on the coast don't have air conditioning (I'm so not used to that!), because supposedly you don't need it. Hah! I'd kill for air right now. It's freaking hot.
MarcM Posted April 28, 2008 Author Report Posted April 28, 2008 I was in the Mojave desert today. It was 85. It was 92 at home!! What the hell?
Levis Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I nearly froze my fingers off when I was out a moment ago. Now I'm heading off for class in this - ahem - autumn weather I'd like all my digits to still be attached by the time I return
Shawna Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I was in the Mojave desert today. It was 85. It was 92 at home!! What the hell? the marine layer, Marc... holds the heat in! At least, that's the way I've always understood it. We don't have those in Phoenix, and I love it! Fog is so alien to me now I hardly know what to do anymore when I'm in San Diego.
MuzikTyme Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I nearly froze my fingers off... I'd like all my digits to still be attached by the time I return There's a nifty invention out now that may help w/that. It's called gloves.

There hasnt been a marine layer, or at least one that reaches me (I am 38 some odd miles inland) for some time. Just blue sky and heat. I hope "June Gloom" starts early.

Just blue sky and heat. I hope "June Gloom" starts early. Nope, no marine layer to speak of, and I would be right in the middle of it, being a mile (at most) inland. Last week it was at 3600 ft, and I had no fog at all, nor drizzle. It's 89 today. I'm loving the warmth, but whoever said we don't need air here is off their rocker. It's unpleasant sleeping. We'll have May Gray soon enough I guess. Weird weather names here. Radhi, invest in gloves and a hat. Up to 40% of your body heat is lost through your head. Just look at it as a chance to make a new fashion statement, you can be all cute in hats. Edited April 28, 2008 by Guest
MuzikTyme Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 If I had gloves I'd wear them na? sheesh. anyway, I'm still typing Oh, don't mind me. I was just doing my Dr. Phil impersonation. You know... like the time when Dr. Phil said, (enter southern-country drawl) "Now, we're gonna pause for a commercial break but when we come back, I'm gonna let y'all in on this great new invention!!! Ever had problems with your drink staying cold in hot weather? Well, friends, when y'all come back, I'ma gonna teach you how to make ice!!!"
Lucky Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 I'm actually enjoying the heat, it's usually never this warm here. The natives here consider this a heatwave. Not me, I'm from the Midwest, where it's not truly hot till it hits 100.
Elvish Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Our normal last frost of the season is around the first of April. Here we are in the last few days of the month, and there is a frost - nay, a freeze warning tonight. So, not very hot right now. I suspect it will be 80 before the end of the week, though
Jenny Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 It's rainy, damp and chilly today, but by the weekend it's supposed to be in the 70's, so I don't mind.

MarcM Posted April 28, 2008 Author Report Posted April 28, 2008 Radhi, invest in gloves and a hat. Up to 40% of your body heat is lost through your head. And cover her hair?! Never!
MuzikTyme Posted April 28, 2008 Report Posted April 28, 2008 Up to 40% of your body heat is lost through your head. Which one though? The big one or little one?
Levis Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 And cover her hair?! Never! Oh no no... not so... I love hats! I have a few funky hats and a beret
Shawna Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 Which one though? The big one or little one? leave it to a man...
Levis Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 ... But Delhi's going to have a high of 43 C (109.4 F) today. In the mornings it's 27 C (80 F) ... I know what that feels like
Shawna Posted April 29, 2008 Report Posted April 29, 2008 It's in the 90s here, and is creeping towards the century mark. I love it!
