invisible_r
I saw Portishead last night at the Apollo in London. After a 10 year (I think) hiatus, the band is back together with a new album coming out soon. After a brief problem with one of the decks, which resulted in taking a five minute break ten minutes in, they resumed playing, mixing new tracks and old favourites. Amongst the old favourites were "Glory box", "Sour times", "mysterons" and an acoustic version of "Wandering star". Apart from the latter, they all surprisingly sounded very similar to the album versions! As for the new stuff, some of it was similar to old Portishead, but most of it was quite different. I look forward to hearing it in the album, then I can properly make up my mind. All in all, seeing Portishead was quite powerful, it actually gave me goosebumps. And who knows, they will probably go on hiatus for another ten years after this!
