Farin Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 found this collection of reciepts on a website: 1. Bacon Stuffed Waffles 2. Chicken Fried Bacon 3. Bacon-Crumble Apple Pie 4. Bacon Explosion: The BBQ Sausage 5. Bacon Cupcakes 6. Bacon Cheese Roll (aka "If I Die A Bacon-Related Death, I'd Like It To Be Because Of This") 7. Bacon Ice Cream 8. Apple bacon coffeecake 9. Bacon Chocolate 10. Bacon Mayo 11. Candied Bacon Martini have fun in trying that at home, and tell us how you liked it... if your heart survives it that is
skybluesky Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 I read that list yesterday and I'm proud to say that I've had the chocolate listed in #9. The only other one I would try is Bacon Ice Cream.
Lucky Posted February 28, 2009 Report Posted February 28, 2009 Bacon waffles sound pretty darn good to me, or maybe pancakes. I'd do them without the egg, & with syrup. That sounds pretty yummy to me. I think that's the only thing I'd try though.
Kevin Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 I gotta make something for dinner tonight , but I'm badly hungover and can't think of anything . Any suggestions -please ?! I'm thinking a slow cooker recipe would be best as it is the easiest for me today ...
_Laurie_ Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 I heard eggs were good for hangovers....how about a nice omelette Kevy?...maybe with some homefries, and wheat toast..... Oh I just saw you want slow cook ideas?....I just made some beef soup in my slow cooker the other day..
Uncle Joe Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Make it a potato and scallion omelet. It'll be easy, nutritious, tasty and possibly healing.
Kevin Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) Thanks ,Laurie , but I can't eat yet till the booze gets out of my system ( beer, wine and scotch ) - just coffee for now . I'll be hungry by dinnertime , however . Edited March 7, 2009 by Guest
_Laurie_ Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 I'm getting hungry now...I could go for a pepperoni omelette right now....
Kevin Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 I did . Thanks anyway . The wife wasn't so impressed with my drunken 'show' last night either , so I wanna make something good ...
Lucky Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Kevin what have you got on hand to put in the slow cooker? 'Cause it doesn't sound like you feel up to shopping either.
Kevin Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) The market is just a 5 minute walk from here -and I do have 1 bottle of Maul's remaining ... Hey, Joe ! At least I'm trying ... but you're right ; guilty as charged. . Edited March 7, 2009 by Guest
Kevin Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) Pork chops and veggies in the sauce - a little rice on the side to pile it all on? Edited March 7, 2009 by Guest
_Laurie_ Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) You can slow cook pork chops with cream of mushroom soup....you can also do it in the oven...it's pretty easy... Or you could always just order out... Edited March 7, 2009 by Guest
Lucky Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 You're going to impress the wife with Maulls? I dunno about that. If you wanted to though, you could. Get yourself a nice pork roast, brown it with lots of garlic, and toss it in the slow cooker. When it's nice & tender, pull it apart, put it back into the cooker, add the Maulls, let it simmer again, and you'll have great pulled pork sandwiches. Make a nice salad, and voila.
Kevin Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 NOW yer talking ! Thanks ,Laurie . Throw in some onions and carrots ,too ? Do I add water or just the soup ?
_Laurie_ Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) NOOOOOO, don't add any water or milk to the soup...it will thin out while cookin...Yeah sure, add whatever you like... Edited March 7, 2009 by Guest

Thanks , Lucky - but I'll save that one . The pork roasts are frozen solid at the market and I've gotta get started soon .

Kevin Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 (edited) Should I sautee the chops/veggies a bit first or just throw them in ? Edited March 7, 2009 by Guest
