Levis
So this would include tapes, in addition to DVDs? Or would it mean that instead of detailing the last three DVDs you only give the last one I ask because of the existence of a similar thread... don't ban me or delete my post, okay? edit: oh lookit... it's gone! 'twas very big? Edited March 15, 2008 by Guest 'tis called cross-checking (and spell checking)
Mike
That's it, I'm banning your ass! No, the other thread was really big, I didn't see the need for historical preservation, so I killed it and started a new one. Video is video, maybe an iPod download? Why restrict it to DVD's
Ombre Vivante
I got Before Sunset, Conte D'Ete, Hiroshima, Mon Amour, Saibogujiman Kwenchana, Lost In Translation, Die Bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant... Tony Baloni
Hiroshima, was that based off of the book?
Ombre Vivante
Yep, the Marguerite Duras book (Hiroshima, Mon Amour). I have it somewhere boxed up. I remember it was my AP English prof who lended it to me, but I never gave it back.
Tony Baloni
Oh, I just looked that up online, we're thinking of two different books. The one I'm thinking of is this book I read in highschool about a few different peoples accounts of what happened to them when the bomb dropped. Ombre Vivante
Damn it! The version of Lost In Translation I got is f*****g PAN AND SCAN! URRRRGH! Wow. I'm usually pretty mellow, easy going, and put little resistance, but I absolutely HATE pan and scan... and I got nobody else to blame for this buy but myself. Hey, anyone wanna Lost In Translation pan and scan dvd?
Ombre Vivante
I ended up buying the widescreen version of Lost In Translation. I couldn't let that toxic pan and scan dvd ruin the day. I went out and also bought: Then I immediately went back in before I spent more
Ken
I picked up the DVD "Tom Petty - High Grass Dogs" at Costco of all places for like, ten bucks. I'd have paid 3X that much if I'd have known it was this good. WAY better in Surround on a larg(er) screen. Tom Petty & Bo Diddley "Mona" Opening "California"

Ombre Vivante
Godard: "Breathless," "Band Of Outsiders," and Masculin Feminin. They didn't have Contempt, which is what I was really rarin' to get. All 3 movies were only 55USD (usually retails for 100) I bought Antonioni's Le Notte for 15 for a friend of mine. Batman
"El Chupacabras El Extraterrestre" It was 25 cents new, so I'm guessing it's going to be pretty incredible.

Ombre Vivante
I gotta Miyazaki Hayao box set, a Dario Argento box set, and a Mario Bava box set (second volume with the 60s and early 70s stuff). These 15 or so movies should tide me over for almost 2 weeks before I decide to shell out either on a Fritz Lang box set or a hard copy clean bootleg of all 115 episodes of Candy Candy subtitled in English (and possibly dubbed in Spanish - don't know which "Spanish" though)
Ombre Vivante
Oh, shoot. I forgot I bought Kakushi-Toride No San-Akunin (a.k.a., "The Hidden Fortress"). I just noticed it on my desk, still wrapped. I got jipped on that sale by about 5 bucks. Sales at Borders are only good for box sets, not single movies.
