Carl
I watched this last night after my Netflix guilt became overwhelming. Tom Dowd was a producer and recording engineer who worked on just about everything that came out of Atlantic Recods in the USA. He was one of the first to do 8-track recording, helped develop the nuclear bomb, and got along really well with the artists. A great scene shows him getting together with Ray Charles, with Dowd explaining how Ray taught him what to listen for, and Ray saying that Tom's recording techniques created possibilities he never dreamed of. The Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Jerry Wexler and many others make appearances. You guys will dig it.
