Carl
Think "Little Darlin'" and "Are You Lonesome Tonight." We'd like to create a Songfacts category (here's an example for Songs inspired by the Bible) for songs with spoken parts. Any ideas for songs that fit this category? edna
I don´t know if "San Franciscan Nights" by The Animals is already mentioned... just in case... This following program is dedicated to the city and people of San Franciscan, who may not know it but they are beautiful and so is their city this is a very personal song, so if the viewer cannot understand it particularly those of you who are European residents save up all your brand and fly trans love airways to San Franciscan U.S.A., then maybe you'll understand the song, it will be worth it, if not for the sake of this song but for the sake of your own peace of mind. Clara
This is my post from the other thread. I meant to put it here but I forgot where I was ... Patti Smith does a lot of spoken word, for eg. in Wave, Horses, and Piss Factory, which she recites more than sings. And the beginning of Birdland ... His father died and left him a little farm in New England. All the long black funeral cars left the scene And the boy was just standing there alone Looking at the shiny red tractor Him and his daddy used to sit inside And circle the blue fields and grease the night. It was as if someone had spread butter on all the fine points of the stars cause when he looked up they started to slip. Then he put his head in the crux of his arm And he started to drift ...
