Mike
So, what do you think? I've had some people telling me he looked old and slow. I think, sure, he's older...aren't we all? But I thought he did pretty well. Good set, the top hits of his. He was always a little stiff and stoic as a performer. But don't you think he looked really nervous though at the very beginning, by the time he got to Runnin' down a dream he seemed to loosen up. Lucky
I thought it was great show. Sure he's a little older, heavier, maybe slower moving, but he's never been a Jagger type. The band sounded good, and it was a good choice of songs.
_Laurie_
I loved it!...the light show and the stage was pretty cool too!
Tony Baloni
Was it just my TV or did those heartbeats start off in sync and then the lights got out of sync with the sound?
TheLizard
Yeah, the heartbeat sounds and the lights weren't in sync. But the show rocked.

_Laurie_
I didn't notice the music and lights being out of time....then again I was at work, so I had to watch a little and then go do a little work, and watch a little more...

Jenny
There was a tape delay, so that may explain why it seemed out-of-sync. I guess they were worried that there'd be a wardrobe malfunction and we'd be subjected to some man boobs. I thought they sounded great, but yeah, I though that they kind of stayed back and didn't really play to the audience.
Mike
Funny, isn't it, we have not had a female performer at halftime since the infamous "wardrobe malfunction". XXXIX - McCartney XL - Stones (Seahawks were robbed by the refs) XLI - Prince XXLII - Tom Petty
Sweet Jane 61
It was a great kickazz show! Sure he's older, who isn't, but they still rocked the joint. I saw him a few years back and for 2 1/2 hours you rock out with Tom and the band. Only thing that got to me was the beard, a bit creepy, but sounded damn good!! Tom may not have had a joint or two since this was on TV!! Edited February 4, 2008 by Guest

Uncle Joe
Great halftime show. Over the weekend I watched the Peter Bogdanovich 4 hour documentary, "Running Down A Dream-Tom Petty". It was on Sundance. What a great movie. It's available on DVD...i highly recommend it.
TheLizard
(Seahawks were robbed by the refs) That still angers me when I think about it.
Lucky
Awww, that sux... then I gotta drink alone... Lucky left after making her beer run so I'm still alone. I came back! Ok, besides the halftime show (again, I thought it was great), I really am a sap, but I thought the National Anthem was awe inspiring. Jordan Sparks sang that song with such power and dignity it was amazing. Almost up there with Whitney Houston's performance. It literally brought tears to my eyes. I know, I'm a sap. Shawna
I loved it!...the light show and the stage was pretty cool too! of course you did, Laurie - it was very salami-ish (<---read: phallic) and Lucky, I agree... I thought Jordin Sparks' version was one of the best I've heard. Edited February 5, 2008 by Guest Lucky's post sparked a Jordin comment.
TheLizard
Jordin Sparks has nothing on Jimi Hendrix.
KentH
Thought Petty put on a pretty good show for Petty. However, his songs really don't bring the kind of energy I want at the Super Bowl. But he sounded damned good.
