TheLizard
Van Halen: Still the best damn party band on the planet. This show had the most fun atmosphere of any show I've been to. Sure David Lee Roth can't hit the high notes anymore, but who cares? He's still the second best frontman I've seen. Actually, this was probably the second best show I've seen. In each song, Eddie very calmly and carefully blew the s**t out of everyone's mind. Yes, it was messed up that Mike Anthony wasn't included, but Wolfgang Van Halen proved that talent is, indeed, hereditary, and he more than made up for Anthony's absence on bass and backing vocals. Alex Van Halen is definitely the best drummer I've seen live. The greatest thing is, the band genuinely enjoys performing, and that glee was contagious throughout the arena. Let the naysayers say what they will, but for over two non-stop hours, Van Halen completely rocked San Antonio. 01. You Really Got Me (from Van Halen, 1978) 02. I'm the One (from Van Halen, 1978) 03. skybluesky
Sure David Lee Roth can't hit the high notes anymore, but who cares? Can he still do those scissor kicks?
TheLizard
Not quite like he could, but he's still way more athletic than I'll ever be (as evidenced by the muscles that he so kindly exposed to the audience through his almost-shirt). He can, however, still balance a hat on his... you know.

TheLizard
and them playing "Hot for Teacher." I have now seen Alex Van Halen do the drum opening live and I still don't know how the hell he does it.

After Mick J, I believe? You´re right, Tim, he´s amazing... first time I saw him (with Van Halen) it was real magic... and energy. Then I saw him solo, with another band and he was still amazing but I had to wear earplugs cause the sound was a bit... high... Congrats!!! I wish I could see such a performance now...
