Wyndolyn
Hi, there... I'm making a soundtrack and I need a little help with finding an appropriate song for someone who is incredibly fake. She's trying to copy my look, for some reason... But, worst of all, she's just a very fake person. She has almost no personality of her own and, what personality she does have, is kind of loathsome. Does anyone know any good songs for someone like that? Thanks, Wyn
Earth-Angel
You're so vain - Carly Simon? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery; it is also annoying, frustrating and can make you mad as hell! But, she is probably just trying to be someone and if she is really loathsome, you might have enough influence on her to help her turn over a new leaf Unpretty - TLC (it might make her wake up and smell the coffee a little and think about what she is doing, who she is and how she doesn't need to copy you) Stupid girl - Garbage (it says "Stupid girl" enough to get the message through )
edna
Positively 10th Street - Bob Dylan Frozen Smiles - Graham Nash
Wyndolyn
Oh, awesome! I'd thought of Stupid Girl, but it didn't quite fit. But, Frozen Smiles is almost perfect! Thank you!
Clara
I hope it's not too late in the day because this is one of the best songs about fake people ... Dave Graney And The Coral Snakes - You're Just Too Hip Baby You’re just too hip baby ah-ooh-ah You’re just too hip baby ah-ooh-ah How did you get so detached, talking a mouth full of cash? You’re just too hip baby ah-ooh-ah You take a feather from every bird you see You never fly You’re just too hip baby I can’t wait for you anymore baby ah-ooh-ah I can’t carry you anymore baby ah-ooh-ah Ah, you live in an empty room You don’t cast a shadow You can work a mirror, yeah You take a feather from every bird you see You never fly You’re just too hip baby … You’re fading fast baby ah-ooh-ah There’s nothing to you baby, ah-ooh-ah Yeah, the lights are on, the front door’s open The furniture’s on the front lawn There’s no-one home at all Ah-ooh-aha, yeah, hey You take a feather from every bird you see You never fly You take a feather from every bird you see You never fly You take a feather from every bird you see You never fly You’re just too hip baby, hey, ah-ooh-ah …
Uncle Joe
edna, you mean Positively 4th Street. "I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you Yes, I wish that for just one time you could stand inside my shoes You'd know what a drag it is to see you" Love that! Ken
Bob Seger Still The Same You always won every time you placed a bet You're still damn good, no one's gotten to you yet Everytime they were sure they had you caught You were quicker than they thought You'd just turn your back and walk You always said, the cards would never do you wrong The trick you said was never play the game too long A gambler's share, the only risk that you would take The only loss you could forsake The only bluff you couldn't fake And you're still the same I caught up with you yesterday Moving game to game No one standing in your way Turning on the charm Long enough to get you by You're still the same You still aim high There you stood, everybody watched you play I just turned and walked away I had nothing left to say 'Cause you're still the same You're still the same Moving game to game Some thlngs never change You're still the same
edna
That´s funny, Ken... I always had this song as the example for someone who always gets to be happy and kicking through all the complications and pains -and betrayals- in life... Maybe he´s a cheater somehow, maybe he does some dirty tricks, yes... It´s the first time I see it that way... I was going to suggest "Gimme Some Truth" - John Lennon
Ashley Rae
"Everybody's Fool" By Evanescence I've heard Amy Lee wrote this song about her sister joining the "popular" group at school, and becoming someone completely other than herself. ~*Ash*~
