Tenacious_Peaches
My college and another university are trying to come together to offer more majors for the students in our area. My bossman is working on a PowerPoint presentation about the plan and asked me if I could think of any songs that would be appropriate for working together. Any suggestions, my brilliant Songfactors? RonJonSurfer
Reach Out In The Darkness - Friend and Lover I think it's so groovy now That people are finally getting together I thinks it's so wonderful and how That people are finally getting together Reach out in the darkness Reach out in the darkness Reach out in the darkness And you may find a friend I knew a man that I did not care for And then one day this man gave me a call We sat and talked about things on our mind And now this man he is a friend of mine Don't be afraid of love Don't be afraid, don't be afraid to love Everybody needs a little love Everybody needs somebody That they can be thinking of

Shawna
How about Roger's "Mexico"? "The good guys and the bad guys they never work past noon around here. They sit side by side in the cantinas talk to senoritas, and drink warm beer."

Jk
"We Can Work It Out", which was done by The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, and probably all sorts of different artists as well, might be a good fit.
miamisammy29
"Musclebound" - Spandau Ballet (yeah, it's a bit Village People-esque, if you know what I mean, but it's very keenly disguised and might work for your purposes) "We're building fires that will burn until morning the smell of books and hot stone surround us Tough is the leather that strapped to my skin strong are the bonds that we make We feel the steam as it rises around us up from the soil that is cracking its back Tough is the leather that strapped to my skin strong are the bonds that sing Work till you're musclebound all night long Work till you're musclebound all night long Gotta work till you're musclebound all night long Gotta work till you're musclebound all night long We're building fires that will burn until morning the smell of books and hot stone surround us Tough is the leather that strapped to my skin strong are the bonds that we make To hear a pulsing from chanter to mountain down through the vein and into the grain Strong is the shoulder that moves to the time here is the land it can break Work till you're musclebound all night long Work till you're musclebound all night long Gotta work till you're musclebound all night long Gotta work till you're musclebound all night long"
skybluesky
Not exactly about working together but still on the peace and harmony tip~The Young Bloods - Get Together Love is but a song we sing And fear's the way we die. You can make the mountains ring Or make the angels cry. Though the bird is on the wing And you may not know why. C'mon people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now Some will come and some will go And we shall surely pass. When the one that left us here Returns for us at last. We are but a moment's sunlight Fading in the grass. C'mon people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now If you hear the song I sing You will understand (listen) You hold the key to love and fear All in your trembling hand. Just one key unlocks them both It's there at your command C'mon people now Smile on your brother Everybody get together Try to love one another right now
miamisammy29
And of course.... "Join Together" - The Who "When you here this sound a-comin', Hear the drummers drumming, I want you to join together with the band, We don't move in any 'ticular direction, And we don't make no collections, I want you to join together with the band. Do you really think I care, What you read or what you wear, I want you to join together with the band, There's a million ways to laugh, And every one's a path, Come on and join together with the band. Everybody join together, I want you to join together, Come on and join together with the band, We need you to join together, come on and join together, Come on and join together with the band. You don't have to play, You can follow or lead the way, I want you to join together with the band, We don't know where we're going, But the season's right for knowing, I want you to join together with the band. It's the singer not the song, That makes the music move along, I want you to join together with the band, This is the biggest band you'll find, It's as deep as it is wide, Come on and join together with the band, Hey hey hey hey hey hey, well everybody come on. Come on and join, join together with the band, We need you to join together, everybody come on, Hey hey hey, join together with the band."

Tenacious_Peaches
Thank you so much for your suggestions, my Songfacts family. TPTB went in another direction with "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac, which I think is a good choice for the message we are trying to get across. You people rock so hard for jumping in and helping me with such great ideas. *sniff* I love you guys.

Tenacious_Peaches
I do remember that, Master Sir bazooka. It tickled me to see Bill attempt to get his groove on to the song. Songfacts!
