skybluesky
I caught them on Letterman and they were an i-Tune free Download. They describe their sound as Surf/Jungle/Country. They remind me a bit of Beck mixed with early Stones. MGMT Myspace Performing on Letterman whilst cape clad~Time to Pretend
TheLizard
Interesting, I think I like, but I'll have to listen a few more times to decide for sure.
Earth-Angel
I like Weekend Wars and Time to pretend so far and their MySpace layout - knitting and graveyards, 2 of my favourite things
Batman
MGMT is a very interesting group, they make electronic neo-psychedelic type stuff and I'm really liking their debut album that just came out this year, "Oracular Spectacular." Their music is sort of reminiscent of 1970's prog rock, except with more of an "indie rock" spin on it. It comes off as a less pretentious (but still sort of cheesey) version of Yes, mixed with some Arcade Fire. If you take them seriously, it will seem really pretentious, but I think it should be obvious to anyone who watches their videos that they're supposed to be fun and un-serious. check out the video for "Time to Pretend" http://youtube.com/watch?v=XVnRzEjpUmE "Kids" is a good one too

Batman
That's cool that it's getting mainstream recognition in the UK and Canada. I can't really tell if it is in the states or not, but I haven't heard it on the radio and it's not getting a lot of recognition in the indie community unfortunately. TheLizard
I thought they were getting recognition around here, Rolling Stone seems to like them quite a bit, but I've never actually talked to anyone else who knows about them... I like them though.
