The Seeker
I think this is one of the first lists I've ever seen which puts Quadrophenia ahead of Tommy. Not in terms of the quality of the songs, lots of people prefer Quadrophenia and I suppose I have to agree that the songs might be a bit better, though I still prefer Tommy... but as a rock opera, most people/lists put Tommy first. Steel2Velvet
Any list of top 25 that does not include Oklahoma is bogus. Rogers and Hammerstein changed the course of musicals with that one. And what of all the great, great music in South Pacific?

Levis
tsk tsk tsk... a listmaker's job is never done satisfying So.... If you wanted to put your choices into the original list (of 25)... which ones would you kick out? Edited December 12, 2007 by Guest
Kevin
"Seven Brides For Seven Brothers " : If you can watch this- and be pleased with it , you need therapy - or are a fundamentalist hard-core Republican .
edna
I'm disappointed that "The Wizard Of Oz" isn't on that list. "Hair"? it was a rock opera after all... and one of the very first...
Levis
just last night it struck me that I hadn't seen Hair on the first list.

Lucky
I like this list, though I could make some changes to it as well. I don't think I'd put The Wizard of Oz at #1, maybe #2. In my life I've probably seen well over half of these, and enjoyed most of them. I can understand the rock operas not being included, they seem different in my mind. Maybe we need a list of them. Or did we just do that??
Super Ry 71
Where is Rock 'N Roll High School?! Rotting in the landfill it deserves to be in. And while we're at it, why don't we throw its sequel in there as well, along with all the up-coming rip-offs and additional sequels.

To pare Rock 'N Roll High School with a heap of trash is akin to punting kitties for sport!

Ombre Vivante
I'd offer the protagonists of high school musical as human sacrifices to appease the gods. It's either that or they were placed here by the gods as a neverending pestilence to punish us.

It's either that or they were placed here by the gods as a neverending pestilence to punish us. I actually like High School Musical ...my excuse is that I'm a girl and as a girl I am allowed to like anything soppy and cheesy...but it is actually a sweet little movie...the sequel not so much...although that lead actors commitment to maintaining over-the-top facials will always amuse me. As for this musicals list...i'm not quite understanding why the South Park movie is on there...i mean i guess technically it IS a musical...but i would never have thought of it as one. What i love from the list is Singin' In The Rain...which i studied this year and will never get sick of, Mary Poppins, Grease, and The Wizard of Oz. Would have loved to see Rocky Horror there...also Moulin Rouge althoug i understand it's a bit arty for some people's tastes.
Batman
Wow that's really cool to see "Once" on that list. If I made a list it would be number one, but still, that's pretty cool.
Lucky
I've got "Once" sitting atop the television. Just waiting for enough uninterupted time to watch it! I guess we made a good choice!
