RonJonSurfer
Jimmy Page Calls Phil Collins 'Disastrous Drummer' Jimmy Page has blamed Phil Collins' poor percussion skills for ruining one of Led Zeppelin's previous attempts at a reunion gig. Jimmy Page has blamed Phil Collins' poor percussion skills for ruining one of Led Zeppelin's previous attempts at a reunion gig. The guitarist, 62, recruited the drummer to play in place of the late John Bonham at Live Aid in 1985 - but felt the Genesis star's sloppy performance made their set a disaster. He says, "I don't want to blame anyone but the two drummers (Phil Collins and Tony Thompson of Chic) hadn't learned their parts. "You can get away with that in a pop band but not with Led Zeppelin." Led Zeppelin reformed to headline an upcoming tribute concert for late Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun in London this month - but the rockers are also rumoured to be planning a U.S. tour with The Cult in 2008. sunderbrook
It definitely sounds like a mess. Something to note, however, if you listen to the actual performance (available on Youtube) -- there are two drummers, and it just sounds like one drummer. Which seems to indicate the the drummers know what's up. Which seems to indicate that it's not the drummers, but rather Mr. Page who was sucking. MuzikTyme
Who cares what that child molester has to say about anyone anyway? Once labled a child molester, the only spoken word is garbled from trying to breathe oxygen from the deepest ocean trench w/a millstone tied to their neck. I wouldn't want to be there and pity those that are.
Ombre Vivante
Phil Collins can commit virtually any crime against art with his drumming, but screw what jimmy has to say about it.
