Tenacious_Peaches
Once again, I have made a reference that only I seem to think is funny! She said the president had a southern accent. Naturally, I thought of Foghorn Leghorn, the rooster. Oh, just watch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-o9rrjMZ_48 I thought it was funny, Marc. babyteen
So, back to my original question. I'm wondering does anyone have any sound examples that they could post for me, so that I could discover the difference in tone between the Tenor Saxophone, the Alto Saxophone, and the Soprano Saxophone? MarcM
Alto http://www.compositiontoday.com/sound_bank/alto_saxophone/alto_saxophone.asp Tenor http://www.tenorsaxophone.us/tenor_saxophone_soundclips.html I have to go to work now, so look on google.com for soprano sound clips. Have fun.

MarcM
Bummer. Keep doing searches on google, or the search engine of your choice, on "saxophone sound bites."
Lucky
Unfortunately, when I clicked on those links, I heard nothing. Did you click and drag the note? I heard 'em. Now, I know the difference.
RonJonSurfer
For a tenor sax listen to Clarence Clemons play on any Springsteen song. For alto listen to David Sanborn on Bowie's "Young Americans". I don't have a good rock example of soprano sax, but it sounds closer to a clarinet. babyteen
I can't see the screen, so that wouldn't work for me. My screenreader doesn't work well with a computer mouse.
MarcM
RonJon's got the right idea. Just remember, the alto has a little bit brighter of a sound than the tenor. The tenor is a lower, more powerful sound. I do love them both. I can not think of any rock music with soprano sax, so (I can not believe I am saying this) listen to Kenny G. You probably won't believe this, but I absolutely love Kenny G! I even love Art Porter and Grover Washington Jr. Smooth Jazz is so cool. Why would you say that you couldn't believe you said this, when you told me to listen to Kenny G? Are you like my Dad, who believes that Kenny G is the kind of music you would commit suicide to? Lucky
I don't know that I'd commit suicide to Kenny G... I might want to hear something I like in my last moments! But yeah, your Dad probably feels the way most of us do. I'm not knocking you... we all like what we like!

MarcM
I do not care for his music. It sounds like elevator music to me. There seem to be enough people that like it, though, so more power to him. I just dont like his music.
babyteen
You love Philadelphia? Why of course! It's The City Of Brotherly Love, and let's not forget, The City of Sisterly Love as well. We should all be nice to each other, like Sisters and Brothers! It's the home of great artists like Grover Washington Jr., John Coltrane, and the legendary Stanley Clarke! And there's Patty LaBelle, Teddy Pendergrass, Boyz II Men (I love their smooth harmonies), Az Yet, and the one and only Hall And Oates!

babyteen
Again, being facetious. So, you think you're being facetious? Why is it that everytime I say that I love Philadelphia, you guys always have to act like such Doodoo Brains? Not to be offensive, but I seem to feel let down when you question my affection and love for Philadelphia, The City of Brotherly Love, and the Birth home of our mighty nation! Let me ask you this. How would you feel if I was to question you about your love of something specific? Tell me the truth on that one!
