A New Dawn (A Sonnet)

Two thousand seven comes now to a close

Just one more footnote in the books of time

And with the fleeting year my childhood goes

As with the wind that blows the ancient chime

I’ve spent my years in visions of what comes

Not once did I observe the here and now

And now I’m destined furthermore to roam,

Once youthful, now regret furrows my brow

But no, what is this time that rules us so?

A law of God or a machine of man?

Into the great unknown we must all go

Perhaps there truly is for all a plan

I must not fear the coming of the sun

For if I do my dreams will come undone

Tim ~ I love this. It's eloquent, it says a lot! I re-read it three times to let it sink in. It's almost like you've aged over the course of it... and the question about time being a trick of fate or god...

deep stuff here... you have a couple of hooks you could branch off into other stuff if you wanted.

Nicely done.
