RonJonSurfer
Beatles Fans Fume Over Lennon Advert Track Fans of the Beatles are infuriated after a John Lennon track was licensed to appear in a J.C. Penney commercial Fans of the Beatles are infuriated after a John Lennon track was licensed to appear in a commercial for a U.S. retailer. Supporters of the group have criticised Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, for approving J.C. Penney's use of the song in its forthcoming advertising campaign - as the late star would've told the corporate world to "f**k off". Pete Nash, chairman of the British Beatles Fan Club, says, "Obviously you can't ask Lennon himself if you can use his song, but if you could, I'm 100 per cent sure his answer would be to tell J.C. Penney to f**k off. "I'm surprised Yoko has licensed the track for such commercial reasons, but she is the one who runs Lennon's estate, so the exploitation of his music is entirely up to her." Lennon was shot dead outside his New York apartment in 1980.

Lea
I wonder if she still wonders why Lennon fans so dislike her. To put it mildly.
Sweet Jane 61
Come on Lea, say it, why Lennon fans despise Yoko! You will feel good saying it...I know I do!! On one hand she does good things in his memory and then she goes and does something like this, just not cool.
Rayzor
Yoko never does anything right. She is the stupidest ***** that John could have thought of to leave in charge of his estate. The wrong person was shot! :beady:

Super Ry 71
Just to let you all know, I heard this driving home last night. The guy said that they used a demo of the song, not what appeared as a "Beatles" product.
Ombre Vivante
I agree completely!! John would not have done this, no way! } Of course he wouldn't! He'd rather abandon his first-born son to be off with the broad who sold him out
Otokichi
J.C. Penney left Hawai'i some years ago, so I have no idea which John Lennon song is being used. Could you enlighten me on Yoko Ono's latest move to twist Beatles fans into a tizzy? Edited November 19, 2007 by Guest
Levis
Ye gads...some fans you are. I'm sure she's horrible, but out of some respect for the man don't be cruel to the woman he loved.

Tenacious_Peaches
I'll take your word for it. I'll check out a hot chick's cans in a New York minute, but I've been trying to avoid Yoko's for the last 30 years.

Tenacious_Peaches
True, but if I wanted to look at plastic and/or parts I'd open my trunk and look at my spare tire. And no, that's not some kind of a double entendre or metaphor for something obscene. For once.
Ombre Vivante
Check it out... there is a HUGE difference: Before: After: She needs to sell out more of The Beatles songs, so that she can improve God's awful mistakes
