RonJonSurfer
Santas warned 'ho ho ho' offensive to women SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday. Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported. One disgruntled Santa told the newspaper a recruitment firm warned him not to use "ho ho ho" because it could frighten children and was too close to "ho", a US slang term for prostitute. "Gimme a break," said Julie Gale, who runs the campaign against sexualising children called Kids Free 2B Kids. "We are talking about little kids who do not understand that "ho, ho, ho" has any other connotation and nor should they," she told the Telegraph. "Leave Santa alone." A local spokesman for the US-based Westaff recruitment firm said it was "misleading" to say the company had banned Santa's traditional greeting and it was being left up to the discretion of the individual Santa himself. blue_n_white
And a "hoedown" today is when a hooker falls in the street due to the breaking of the heel of one of her stiletto's. But in all seriousness, isn't this getting a little out of hand?? All this "political correctness"?? I mean businesses can't have "Merry Christmas" posted in their stores or on ad's. It all has to be "Happy Holidays". Give me a break people. Is everybody that hyper-sensitive??
Rayzor
Nope. No one is that hyper-sensitive. People are just that greedy. If they say that it offends them they can sue and make alot of money without working for it. Laziness and greed create the worst type of creature... I heard it on the way to work and was like what the hell??? We live in a world where suing someone is easy to do and we worry about being PC all the time that is has become out of control. blue_n_white
The word "ho" is used a lot today so looks like just about anybody can sue anybody for using it or saying it in that case. Just think people are taking this PC crap a bit too far. They need to get a life and move on.

c_s_1987
What the heck has happened to Australia's "nothing's sacred" attitude? I blame this all on John Howard assisting in the Americanization of our fine country. That's one of the many reasons why I won't be voting for him. c_s_1987
Thank you. That really clears things up. I really shouldn't have believed the story in the first place, because a lot of these sorts of stories are just rumours or distorted facts.
