bazooka
additional thought on the video^ I don't know if I should laugh or cry that they've edited things like "bush" out of it but great song anyway I do prefer the unedited version but I thought I'd have to 'sell' the song to a wider audience. Tenacious_Peaches
<== Here's a 'fro in honor of ?uestlove's glorious hair. You Don't Know My Name - Alicia Keys I love me some Alicia Keys. When I hear people talk about the pitiful state of current music, I always bring her up. Songwriter, singer, musician, producer...she's got it all. And I love this video because it features the multi-talented (and tres handsome, IMHO) Mos Def as the love interest. I don't care if you don't vote for it, but at least listen to it. If You Think You're Lonely Now - K-Ci & Jojo I'm generally not one for remakes, but this version of Bobby Womack's spectacular original is in a class by itself. K-Ci's raspy snarl gets me every time. Here is Bobby's version.

MuzikTyme
Caves are nice, I know because I lived in a couple during my life here on Earth. The first one had a river with stalagmites reflecting in such a way that I never wanted to trade it for the outside world; filled with cell-phoned lunatics running to places they had no intention of going and, not knowing what to do once they got there. Similar to the Chihuahua that chases the car and finally catches it . . . What shall it do then? Pretending that their's was the only thing important while all-the-time knowing that it was show without grow . . .

OLD 55
I like b-f's other one better, and I'll be voting for it. Here's mine - sorry I haven't been around. Just in time to nominate. Da Ya Think I'm Sexy - Rod Stewart (1978) Money - Pink Floyd (1973) I nominated a song over 6 minutes long. One of the phew phloyd songs I like ! blue_n_white
The song "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" reminds me of a cover band I saw in the very early 80's. After a break, the band returned with the lead singer, who was a tad chunky, dressed as Rod Stewart complete with blonde wig and a leopard print, spandex jumpsuit. Chunky lead singers should never, ever wear spandex. He could sound just like Hot Rod,but I couldn't get past that image of him in that get up.So everytime I hear that song or see it mentioned,I think of that right away. Sorry for the interlude. OLD 55
Hi blue, Dappled and Lucky. We've had a funny old week - can't believe it's Wednesday night (here in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) already ! blue, that would have been a sight and a half. Reminds me of poor Elvis in his later days. It was tragic to see his descent. And Lars, I think a Dire Straits song I nominated went for over 6 minutes too ! I'll try to catch up tomorrow and listen to the songs I don't know. Goodnight All. Edited November 7, 2007 by Guest
Uncle Joe
I knew that song. I just didn't know that I knew it. I thought I knew that song but I always thought it was The Waitresses trying to sound Blondie-ish. Elastica, eh? Well, well.
Uncle Joe
My reaction to Mr Fitter's nomination: You ain't gonna see that happen very often!! Jeeminy Christmas b-f, how did I miss this earlier today? Beefheart is one of rock's truly original geniuses. Saw him on Letterman a couple years ago and he's still way cool.
