I know its a little bit early to think about Christmas music but one of my coworkers gave me the new Mannheim Steamroller Christmas Songs album and i love it. I can not wait for Christmas to come. I still cant believe that Mannheim is still putting out Christmas albums and they just keep getting better. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Christmas or Mannheim, i also found a link to let it snow for anyone interested.

Way too early for Christmas everything. By the time Christmas finally gets here I can't wait for it to be over. When I was a kid growing up in the 60's and 70's,the tree never went up before like 2 weeks before Christmas and I don't remember doing any Christmas shopping untill after Thanksgiving. And today,Thanksgiving is all but forgotten becaused it's now included into the "holiday season". Bah humbug!!

Drop by http://last.fm and check out the "Christmas" group. At least one poster admits to "roasting chestnuts over an open fire" on November first. Since the stores are playing "Jingle Bell Rock," 'tis the season for Noeltunes. (The local Borders has a whole section set aside for "Christmas music," instead of the usual "2 for $22" music CD overstock!) On this computer, Mason Williams' "Greensleeves" occasionally plays when iTunes is set to "random." So go for it, and watch out for sharpened-Holly-stake-bearing Scrooges! :beatnik:

Well, it sure is nice down here this time of year

The tourists are tanned and there's holiday cheer

Here comes Santa Claus, havin' a tropical Christmas

I'm mailin' out cards to the great frozen North

Sweatin' from the energy I could force

In jingle bells, havin' a tropical Christmas

And when the Sun sets down in the ocean

We'll decorate the palm trees

We'll mingle ornaments with coconut lights

Then we'll go caroling through paradise

And thank Baby Jesus for this tropical silent night

First we'll open our presents, then we'll lay on the beach

Later we'll call, see what relatives we reach

In their winter wonderland, havin' a tropical Christmas

And when the Sun sets down in the ocean

We'll decorate the palm tree

We'll mingle ornaments with coconut lights

Then we'll go caroling through paradise

And thank Baby Jesus for this tropical silent night

Hey Kris Kringle, when you empty your sleigh

Stop by and kick back, with us a few days

You and Rudolph, havin' a tropical Christmas

We'll build a snowman in sand, havin' a tropical Christmas

Grandma wants a new bikini, havin' a tropical Christmas

Y'all come on down, we'll have a tropical Christmas

Bring your suntan oil, havin' a tropical Christmas

Let their be peace on Earth, havin' a tropical Christmas

Bring some surfboards for the kids ..............,

Santastic III in 3-D is currently rocking my holiday world. Excellent, excellent mashups of holiday and non-holiday songs. My favorites are "You Shook Me All Noel" and "Safety Bells". Tee hee. I got the link because I joined the mailing list of Go Home Productions on our very own blind-fitter's recommendation. GHP is represented by the very odd, yet immensely hummable, "Elvis' Christmas Turkey".

God bless us, everyone!

For those of you who haven't been good girls this year, Joan Osborne asked Santa the question last year:

What Do bad Girls Get?

Well the holidays are coming

And it has got me so upset

See, I got a burning question

And nobody's answered yet

Good girls get toys for christmas

But Santa, what do bad girls get?

Do you cross me off your list?

For flirtin' and for teasin'?

Yes, I pouted and I cried

But I had a real good reason

Oh, I got a burnin' question

Nobody's answered yet

Good girls get toys for christmas

But Santa, what do bad girls get?

Nice and easy now

Alright, alright

Mmm, well you got your calculator

You're countin' up my sins

But Santa please consider

How much worse I could've bee

Oh I got a burnin' question

Tell me once, you know I won't forget

Good girls get toys for Christmas

But Santa, what do bad girls get

What do bad girls get? :jester:

In all of my 50 years, this is the first Christmas Holiday I have spent away from my family and children. I'm well on my way to making new memories, but I've found that the music is what brings all the old and lovely memories flooding back. Sappy, I know, but here are some of my favorite memories, songs that have become traditional Christmas favorites for me, both from my childhood, and as an adult (are we really grown up at Christmas Time?)....

Please Come Home For Christmas ~ The Eagles

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer ~ Gene Autry

Sleigh Ride ~ Johnny Mathis (oh lord, this looks like back home...)

The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) ~ Alvin & The Chipmunks (this is the original. The very first album I ever owned. I was 5)

The Christmas Song ~ Nat King Cole

Snoopy vs The Red Baron ~ The Royal Guardsmen

Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree ~ Brenda Lee

Merry Christmas!! :)
