  1. The 1989 by-the-numbers-cop-movie-in-Japan has surfaced on the premium movie channels. This ISN'T that movie, but something more interesting. (These "premium movie channels" haven't shown ANY foreign films to date--which is why I have Turner Classic Movies.) It's the Summer of 1945 in Southern Japan, ordinary folk are trying to get by as The Pacific War grinds on. But something completely different is about to turn their lives upside down...
  2. https://www.youtube.com/fujirockfestival Submitted for your approval, a weekend of "contemporary music" from Japan. Sorry, no subtitles for these broadcasts, just Rock of various kinds with commentary, etc. (It's all about the music, unless you "can speak/read Japanese.";)
  3. Touring The Movie Database, I saw a link to this movie and read the description. I did a Google! search and found a English subtitled version. (The movie doesn't make a lot of sense without context.) Warning: To turn on English subtitles, look in the upper right hand corner for the "Settings" icon. This triggers a pair of ads, every 10-15 minutes, like commercial TV.. But a movie that starts with an instrumental version of "The Tennessee Waltz" as it's opening theme is intriguing. Submitted for your approval, a movie set in Japan's "great white north," which makes it a natural Spring movie.;) A SciFi B movie that you can laugh at: "Angry Red Planet"
