It is July 3, 2021. Sunday is July 4th, and I was wondering what would be an appropriate musical performance in these very divided and uncertain times. I looked at July 4th collections, then happened on a Top Ten list. Jimi Hendrix' Woodstock 1969 instrumental of "The Star-Spangles Banner" was listed at #2. It's OK, but I've always preferred a musician who almost lost his career for daring to perform a stylized/Folk version in 1968. Submitted for your approval, Jose Feliciano... Guess who/what was Number one?

While I'm sure that none of you Songfacters would even think of driving buzzed/drunk, here's the annual Public Service Announcement by Bob Rivers. (I'm not sure what Jose Feliciano though of this parody of "Feliz Navidad," but it's definitely not a joke during the holiday season.) Have a sober Christmas or call a taxi if you can't "walk a straight line" to your Belchfire 8.;) Carol of the Bartenders...
