  1. Axl Rose has a very.....unique voice Hendrix has such a style of his own it's easy
  2. My name is Daniel Gillis and I'm 13 years old. I'm from Canada i wish I was about twenty years older than I am because of the music. My problem is that I know there are so many brilliant bands from the 70's -80's era. I was only born in '91 so evidently I missed out. I listen to all the famous old bands out there: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Guns n' Roses, Ramones, Jimi Hendrix, AC/DC, Van Halen. goooood stufff. I know there are other great bands out there that I have never heard because of lack of promotion. I have nowhere to hear it. Please help me out. Some bands that you guys like from back then that i might like. P.S. Also any good sites to listen to music on would be great Thanks a lot-Daniel
  3. Plain an simple, easy language no order top 5 Jimi Hendrix Eric Clapton B.B King Robert Johnson Eddie Van Halen(not to most but he is an insane guitarist)
  4. I'll say: Flea John Paul Jones ROGER WATERS Michael Anthony Cliff Burton Cliff Williams Michael 'Duff' McKagan Noel Redding
  5. Play Comfortaby Numb. That will get everyone going and I've seen a local band... my town is like 4,000 pop.....and man they could play that song. Then they played some Tool song and everything kinda fell apart, i dunno. COMFORTABY NUMB RULES I'd say Another Brick in the wall would get them into the action too
  6. And yet, who does'nt like those four wonders of guitar. they are so different but at the same time, so alike. I love the guitar.

  8. As a matter of fact I have a record of Robert Johnson and I am 1 years old so I suppose you could consider me a fan. And I have a few B.B. King's so don't tell me I don't like the blues. I am sorry. To the rest of the list: JACK WHITE 17????I have picked up a guitar seriously about 10 times and I can play two of his songs. at least most of them. SO either I'm the next Hendrix, or they are not tough. Curt Cobain 12? ..... no comment.....maybe he could trade spots with Eddie Van Halen JOHNNY RAMONE 16??? I love the Ramones but come on. 12. Rolling stone is crap. I personnaly am completely disgusted with ANY Rolling Stone Magazine opinion. I was recently reading another post and someone said he picked That's All Right as the first Rock n' Roll album because Rolling Stone said it was. a very wise member named PinkFloyd1973 put it this way: ROLLING STONE is to MUSIC as NATIONAL ENQUIRER is to the SCIENTIFIC WORLD. perfect I just thought the news should get out that it is good for lining the garbage can and not much else. JUST TO PROVE MY POINT, HERE IS THEIR TOP 100 GUITARIST LIST I agree with the first four and that is about it 1 Jimi Hendrix 2 Duane Allman of the Allman Brothers Band 3 B.B. 13. oops sorry batman, I kinda spoke too soon lol
  14. 1!!!!SLASH!!!!1 2!!!David Gilmour!!!2 3!!John Petrucci!!3 4!Leo Kottke!4 5Randy Rhoads5 Whoever posted this, I like your style. Slash is amazing And whoever said Curt Cobain, you are in the wrong discussion. This is 'underrated guitarists', not 'way way way overrated guitarists :beady:
  15. What about Slash of Guns n' Roses? He's got Velvet Revolver now... And Eric Clapton just released new cd, although I admit it's not quite as good as his Yardbirds stuff :guitar:
  16. Coldplay are actually popular almost everywhere. Their mellow tunes are really getting to me. I usually don't listen to newer music 'cause most of it sucks, but Coldplay is exceptional!!
  17. In my opinion I am going to have to say Civil War-Guns n' Roses. Not because it was the greatest all-time rock n' roll song, but because it was the last of the great rock n' roll songs. 'The Spaghetti Incident?' was crap and after Guns n' Roses, Nirvana came in and changed the face of Rock n' Roll forever. Now rock music sucks. I bow to you almighty Slash
