  1. Too difficult for me, Mate! I can sometimes get the European ones after the event, and I did recognise the pie-eater from Little Feat though. Don't lose heart on account of us with little brain though - its the fact that it is a challenge that makes it worth trying! Regards
  2. "Can I sneak a few extra points if I beat Diggs severely about the head and shoulders with a rolled-up newspaper?" Shawna, you can have those 'pinched' points if you beat me around the legs & buttocks instead! Regards
  3. Can I sneak a point by saying the lead singer of Simple Minds is 'Jim' Kerr as opposed to 'Steve'? Steve Kerr is his battered Mars Bar eating, alcoholic brother. Regards
  4. Or even 'Take on Me'? Regards ps. the other was either Lindesfarne or the Isle of Dogs, and I would have gone for Lindesfarne ultimately given that the Isle of Dogs wasn't a 70s band. Altogether, two three four... "The fog on the Tyne is all mine, all mine, The fog on the Tyne is...." Why eye canny lad...
  5. Was it A-HA with 'Hunting High & Low'? Regards
  6. I know the guitarist of SAHB joined Nazareth for a while, but I can't get the ASIA connection. Being English I feel I should though, which is v. frustrating indeed. Regards
  7. A wild stab in the dark at Hawkwind? Regards
  8. Oh, perhaps not. I've just come in from work and it is 130-1. Could this be a renaissance? Not holding my breath. Regards
  9. Tsk, tsk. I thought it was us that were the whingers! Only joking of course. I am confident that should your bowlers recover from their 'supposed' injuries, normal service will be resumed at Old Trafford.... It was good whilst it lasted though. Regards
  10. Darryl, hope you enjoy the cricket! Regards
  11. Nooo, Gandald was going fishing using the promise of a better place as a ruse to get hobbit-sized bait on board. The horse when diced was good for flatties and eels, but mid-water species prefer live bait. Regards
  12. Or a low-calorie balanced meal with little carbohydrate and fruit for afters? Regards
  13. Was it 'Grease' sung by Frankie Valli? Regards
  14. Mine was a reference to Michael Jackson as well rather than a new joke, but Brad got a punch-line out of it anyway. I think we have the new Songfacts comedy champion here! Yeah, the second Test will be different... Regards
  15. Darryl, I don't think other Songfactors would appreciate bawdy Aussie uncalled-for, lager-swilling tap-room humour. Oh, next world domino toppling championship, we'll wreak our revenge.... Regards
  16. Ok Darryl, knock a team when they are down, why don't you... What do Geraint Jones and the white Diana Ross have in common? Regards
  17. Nothing's free in this life darlin', but I'm very cheap! Regards
  18. Whilst we are on the subject of under-recognised older bands, what about the Sensational Alex Harvey Band (SAHB)? Alex Harvey was the prototype for 'punk' in Britain during the early 1970s, but possessed a theatrical edge too. If you wish to check them out, I suggest 'The Impossible Dream' recorded in 1975 as a good starting point. Track two - 'The Man In The Jar' is one of my all time favorite songs, nay performances ever ever.... You were talking about Glam Rock on a different thread. Have a look at this lot to see some original Glam Rock with a twist! Regards
  19. If anybody wants my go, feel free.... Regards
  20. Edna, is it perchance 'Feline' by the Stranglers, featuring one Jean Jaques Burnell? Regards
  21. The fella at the front looks like Lee wassisname from Imagination, but I thought there were only 3 of them. Regards
  22. Thanks Suttie hen, I'll watch oot fer that! Regards
  23. Can I vote for Rab C Nesbitt? Suttie will know who I mean. Regards
