  1. Moe Howard's son Paul worked at the same company I am still at back in the eighties. He was a nice guy and actually resembled Larry more so that Moe. He was a red headed guy with freckles. In Moe's biographies you see pictures of Paul.
  2. I don't think it was the bald guy. It wouldn't make any sense. Supposedly they have been on the island some 40 or 50 plus days already. I think Sun would have known by then she was pregnant. I think in the future we are going to learn something more than we expect now of this child. Also, has everyone on that island forgotten about Michael and Walt? Where are they? Last I remember Michael went off after Walt but the rest of the islanders have seemed to lost interest or care in those two. What's that all about? I still think Walt holds the key to everything happening on that island.
  3. I have always been fond of Rod Stewart's "Forever Young" as a great song to sing to a child. Forever Young May the good Lord be with you Down every road you roam And may sunshine and happiness surround you when you're far from home And may you grow to be proud Dignified and true And do unto others As you'd have done to you Be courageous and be brave And in my heart you'll always stay Forever Young, Forever Young Forever Young, Forever Young May good fortune be with you May your guiding light be strong Build a stairway to heaven with a prince or a vagabond And may you never love in vain and in my heart you will remain Forever Young, Forever Young Forever Young, Forever Young Forever Young Forever Young And when you finally fly away I'll be hoping that I served you well For all the wisdom of a lifetime No one can ever tell But whatever road you choose I'm right behind you, win or lose Forever Young, Forever Young Forever Young ,Forever Young Forever Young, Forever Young For, Forever Young, Forever Young
  4. I agree Das and may I add it would also be the same as Michael McDonald bringing the new sound to the Doobies. It just didn't work.
  5. This is by far the craziest thing I have ever heard. While I do believe there is in time some chest enlargement in women (gaining weight, ultra hormonal activity, etc.), falling from six feet and getting injured does not gel (excuse the pun) with me. Did anyone inspect for bruises and swelling? That would be the only way I could see it happening.
  6. Perhaps we all should band together and fight off this Michael Jackson conspiracy by talking about Donny Osmond and the Osmonds!!
  7. Bazooka...while I agree with you that Herrman was great, there is still another I find to be simply brilliant and amazing. His music has been heard by just about every American in this country in one genre or another. From hundreds of television commercials to children's programming and other TV shows and movies. He is also the musical genius behind alot of video games. The man eats, drinks and sleeps music. He is one of the most prolific composers of our time. When he isn't composing he is producing artwork similiar to the modern surrealistic painters of our time. He is also one of the founding members of DEVO and his name is Mark Mothersbaugh. Wilkipedia has a small blurb on some of his accomplishments. Here it is Mark Mothersbaugh
  8. I did see something about it on a news program the other evening. I believe they mentioned it will be coming out the beginning of next year. Stay tuned.
  9. Steel....I was thinking the same thing. All of a sudden MJ fans are coming out of the seams. Well, to all of you MJ fans the following is a true story. I have mentioned it here once before in the past. I was fortunate (at least to me it was fortunate at the time) to meet Michael Jackson and shake his hand. This was way before he began to change. He was still a teenager. I was 17 and working at the Loew's Orpheum movie theatre in Manhattan, NY over on 86th street. It was the summer of 1977 and Star Wars, which was the biggest movie to ever hit this planet was playing there. I had heard Michael was in the theatre watching the movie and I had missed him coming in. After the movie he had come out with his sister LaToya. While they were waiting on their limo I took the opportunity to walk over to him and tell him that "I'll Be There" was my favorite song of all time (it still is). He gave that high pitched giggle and said thanks. He asked me my name of which I told him Jimmy and he said nice meeting you. That whole thing took less than a minute. To tell you the truth I was just as impressed with LaToya who was simply gorgeous back then. Working in movie theatres in NYC does give you the opportunity to meet many celebrities since they go to the movies also. I did meet others (Al Pacino, Roy Scheider, Dr. Renee Richards, etc.) but none more important to me at the time than Michael. Another point about this influx of MJ fans. They all seem to be young since they are speaking of his post Thriller albums and songs. You guys should go back to the beginning when Michael and his brothers were the top act out of Motown. That music was just as great if not better.
  10. Great song Laurie.....I have to admit that song always stirs memories.
  11. Publish Date : 3/21/2006 3:31:00 AM Source : Entertainment News Onlypunjab.com One of the oldest U.S. bands still playing with original members, the Hackberry Ramblers, has lost its founding accordionist, Edwin Duhon. Duhon died Feb. 26 of natural causes in Westlake, La., at age 95, The Los Angeles Times reported. Duhon and fiddler Luderin Darbone started the Hackberry Ramblers in southern Louisiana more than 70 years ago. Their timeless mixture of Cajun, western swing and Gulf Coast dance music had the group in later years entertaining audiences on "MTV Live," in Europe and Nashville's Grand Ole Opry. Duhon performed in Baton Rouge, La., in November "even though he was playing in a wheelchair and it was difficult for him to go," drummer Ben Sandmel told the Times. The Hackberry Ramblers introduced electronic amplifiers to southern Louisiana's dancehalls. Darbone bought a $50 sound system from a catalog and ran it off the battery of his idling car, since many of the dance halls didn't have electricity, the Times said. The group recorded countless albums and received a Grammy nomination for 1997's "Deep Water." Duhon and Darbone realized a lifelong dream in 1999, playing at the Grand Ole Opry. The group toured Europe in 2002 and debuted at Rhode Island's Newport Folk Festival. Duhon and Darbone received a National Heritage Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington in 1999. Duhon's wife, Cecile, died in 1981. His survivors include 10 children and a brother
  12. I am glad to hear you are all OK. I don't know if it just me but does cyclone in the land of Oz sound remotely familiar?
  13. Hi littlel30......There are so many songs about friendships, both intimate and social. Here are a few that I came up with: You've Got A Friend - Carole King (or James Taylor) I'll Be There - Michael Jackson Oh How The Years Go By - Amy Grant Stand By Me - Ben E. King Whenever I Call You Friend - Kenny Loggins My Friend - Blessed Union Of Souls Any Time You Need A Friend - Mariah Carey I Will Be Your Friend - Amy Grant Lean On Me - Bill Withers
  14. Batman.....there is one CD which I always keep in my car (the others are always rotated from my collection). That CD is Bob Seger's Greatest Hits. No matter where I am driving to, if I am bored with local radio or have gone through the other CD's I know I can always depend on Seger's music to keep my spirit going. Like A Rock is a song I surely identify with. Others like Night Moves, Roll Me Away, Hollywood Nights, Against The Wind and Old Time Rock N' Roll are all great songs. The rest of the greatest hits CD is potent with more of his hits. I highly suggest you listen to these hits if you have not done so already. I think you will find that these songs would sell just as well today as they did 25 - 30 years ago.
  15. You mentioned you were moving offices. Did you mean your work or job? If so and if the machine you are using is networked you may wish to look in the Administrator's Documents directory under Settings and Documents. Open that directory and look for Administrator's Music.
  16. I agree with you Angel. I thought all songs were either poetry or prose. Have I been wrong all my life?
  17. Steel....I agree with you. Last Wednesday, March 8th ABC aired a rerun of Lost from the first season. This is becoming a common thing. I turned on the tube last week to see Kate and Sawyer doing their swim scene at the falls they discovered. ABC has done the rerun thing with Desperate Housewives as well. How do they expect to hold on to their viewers when they are constantly airing reruns. It is no wonder Lost is averaging 16th place in the Neilsen ratings this year.
  18. A band that I believe is not mentioned enough is Nazareth. Besides their power ballad Love Hurts, I think you will find alot of their songs to be better than good!
  19. Floyd, I will agree with you on the fact that John Williams is a great composer when it comes to scoring music for blockbuster films. I also agree that the original Star Wars soundtrack is one of the best film scores of all time. As a teen I never cared for symphonic arrangements but when it came to the Star Wars soundtrack, I found it to be quite easing. Other film scores I would consider recommending is Gone With The Wind, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind and Exodus.
  20. Kevin.....what do you think I thought when I saw it. I almost fell off my chair.
  21. I have posted the following on the Yahoo league website. Subject: Go Figure.....I Got Bonds....Will Trade Message: Ok folks...as I mentioned on my Songfacts post I would trade Bonds for the right offer. I do need a 1B. We can start from there and work in a couple of players. I didn't have him in my top 50 in ranking and wondered how I got him. If you look at the draft results he was pick #103. Like I said, GO FIGURE! Sammy....if you want Bonds as you mentioned above in the thread, make an offer.
  22. Quite a few Barry White songs sounded similiar. Then there is also Al Green whose songs you could recognize immediately the first time you heard them.
  23. For those of you who have followed baseball over the years, take a moment to remember Kirby Puckett. The AP is reporting this evening (March 6) Mr. Puckett passed away at the age of 44 following the stroke he suffered the day before. Elected to the Hall of Fame at the age of 40, I have to believe he is one of the youngest ever elected. I remember his sweet swing, the one that almost guaranteed a hit every time he was at the plate. God's roster of ballplayers just got better this evening. May he rest in peace.
  24. I edited the post as I misread the original post. I am trying to think of a most appropriate song along the lines of memories. There is also the song I have always liked when you want to tell someone you have always looked up to him or her. Here it is: The Wind Beneath My Wings It must have been cold there in my shadow To never have sunlight on your face You were content to let me shine that'Â’s your way You always walked a step behind So I was the one with all the glory While you were the one with all the strength A beautiful face without a name for so long A beautiful smile to hide the pain Did you ever know that youÂ’re my hero? And everything I would like to be? I can fly higher than an eagle For you are the wind beneath my wings It might have appeared to go unnoticed But IÂ’'ve got it all here in my heart I want you to know I know the truth of course I know it I would be nothing without you Did you ever know that youÂ’'re my hero? YouÂ’re everything I wish I could be I could fly higher than an eagle For you are the wind beneath my wings Did I ever tell you you're my hero? YouÂ’'re everything, everything I wish I could be Oh, and I, I can fly higher than an eagle For you are the wind beneath my wings
