  1. Next week (May 4th) on The COMMON Thread I'll be giving away two free tickets to go see the Average White Band at Toad's Place in New Haven Ct. The radio show airs from on Wednesdays 8-10 EST on 98.1FM or at www.wqaq.com Small venue show to see a great band. Please listen in and try to win. It's my last show till the fall semester and I would love to go out with a band. So drop requests in or just say hello. Hope to hear from you all.
  2. NEW HORIZONS -Moody Blues I played on the varsity tennis team for three years, and the highlight of the season was having the ability o miss a day of school to go to the State Prep Championships down in Lawerenceville to root on our teammates who were playing. We would all bring bag loads of snacks and music for the ride there and back. The seniors got control over the stereo and we would blast music, singing along the whole way down there. Senior year when it when it was our turn to pick the music we blasted classic rock the whole way down and back. Moody Blues, Billy JOel, Eagles, Buffett, everything. And the last song that we played on the way back up the hill to campus was New Horizons by the Moody Blues. It was a fitting way to end the last trip together as a team for the season, and for our high school careers.
  3. Nowhere's close to getting married. But i had to plan one back when I was in high school for a project. These were some of my ideas. First Dances: "I'll Be" -Edwin McCain I swear -Richard marx Father's Dance: Goodnight my Angel -Billy Joel More I Cannot Wish You -Guys and Dolls Butterfly Kisses -Bob Carlyle (sterotypical)
  4. But he will go from crappy wedding music to high quality fun time. Just drink at the wedding then go to the concert. The best of both worlds.
  5. That isn't the complete schedule I hope. Where can i find this?
  6. Almost for sure they will do Jack and Diane. Mellencamp did it on CMT Crossroads with Kenny Chesney and it was out of this world. I'm sure it will be equally as good if not better with Fogerty.
  7. "Society's Child" by Janis Ian "Come to my door, baby, Face is clean and shining black as night. My mother went to answer you know That you looked so fine. Now I could understand your tears and your shame, She called you "boy" instead of your name. When she wouldn't let you inside, When she turned and said But honey, he's not our kind. She says I can't see you any more, baby, Can't see you anymore."
  8. I think it's kinda funny that there's 10-12 year olds being paid to sing songs with such sexual and drug overtones. I don't care how you edit it, the meanings of the songs are still there .
  9. He's going on tour this summer with his band Strange Sensation. Should be ehhhh kinda interesting. I know these dates are in your area Ron: 6/19 Borgota Casino Atlantic City 6/26-27 Beacon Theater NYC Not on my list of priorities of concerts, but could be an okay show.
  10. Just add this to my list of concets that I want to go see this summer but probably won't have the dough to do so. Hrmmm time to make a list of priorities.
  11. Don't get your hopes up yet. Last I heard (Wednesday mornign) They're going through Neighborhood Effect research. It isn't 100% finalized yet. But it's like 85-95% that it's a go. But Ill be first in line when tix go on sale!
  12. SWEETNESS they're coming to the Oakdale. That's right around the corner from where I live at school. Now I don't have to trapse into NYC! This just made my night!
  13. Relient K rocks my socks off! The Pirates Who Dont Do Anything is the best song ever! "We are the pirates who don't do anything we just sit at home and lie around and if you ask us to do anything we'll just tell you we don't do anything"
  14. Ringo- You're Sixteen George- Got My Mind Set on You John- Imagine, Stand By Me Paul- Maybe I'm Amazed Don't forget the stuff Paul did with Wings.
  15. What's even funnier is that they beat out Metallica for the award, even though Metallica performed that night and was labeled at that time as the quintescential metal band.
  16. Ian Anderson still tours both solo and with the rest of Jethro Tull. His last solo release was in 2003 with the album Rupi's Dance. Other solo albums are 1983's Walk into the Light, 1995's Divinities: Twelve Dances with God, and my personal favorite 2000's The Secret Language of Birds. There is a Jethro Tull Christmas album that came out in 2003. I've only heard bits and pieces but it's interesting to say the least. But if you are looking for a mix of the best Tull I suggest 1985's Original Masters. It's basically a greatest hits complealtion. Track List: Living In The Past Aqualung Too Old To Rock 'n' Roll, Too Young To Die Locomotive Breath Skating Away On The Thin Ice Of The New Day Bungle In The Jungle Sweet Dream Songs From The Wood Witch's Promise Thick As A Brick Minstrel In The Gallery Life Is A Long Song
  17. Album hasn't dropped yet. It's to be released on April 25 2005. It's a duel disk CD/DVD. (Amazon List price 18.98 currently on sale for 13.49 if you pre-order it) Track List: 1. Devils & Dust 2. All The Way Home 3. Reno 4. Long Time Comin' 5. Black Cowboys 6. Maria's Bed 7. Silver Palomino 8. Jesus Was an Only Son 9. Leah 10. The Hitter 11. All I'm Thinkin' About 12. Matamoras Banks DVD: Entire album in 5.1 channel surround sound and in 2 channel stereo. Special Devils & Dust film by noted photographer and film maker Danny Clinch, including rare, never-before-seen acoustic performances of "Devils & Dust," "Long Time Comin'," "Reno," All I'm Thinkin' About" and "Matamoras Banks" plus Bruce's personal introductions to the tracks. Should be a great release. I have my calender marked with the date so that I can go grab it.
  18. You can get it on the greatest hits album called "Genius" which came out a few years ago. I think that is the best mix of his songs that I have found to date.
  19. "More I cannot Wish you" from Guys and Dolls would be my pick. It's not about lovey dovey so much, but more about finding happiness.
  20. I meant I don't think he's in as much trouble as they say he is. He beats out MJ any day of the week! Can't wait for that free concert
  21. '82 was kjust a little before my time. But I only had for one year I had her though, she graduated in 88 and stayed around for a couple years before heading elsewhere. I must have missed the Untouchables. But I still think it's a great f-ing movie.
  22. You would know :beady: Maybe he'll tour solo again too
  23. WOuld love top see Relient K in concert sooooooooo bad. Saw Good Charolete last year but only because they were on tour with Something Corporate. They were okay. But RELIENT K! I'll go see them any day.
