  1. I have no clue, I could ask my boyfriend, whose a professional guitarist, but that wouldn't be for another week as he's on tour right now. I know he'd figure it out, so let me know if you want me to ask him. Its a great song, I'm a fan of Yes. Btw, I loooove your pic of Peter! that has got to be the funniest show ever.
  2. Although I love Hendrix's version, I like Dylan's better.
  3. I've recently heard another version of "This is Radio Clash" and I'm a bit confused. Why are there two versions? Its pretty cool, I must admit! Thanks!
  4. Hi everyone, haven't been on in a while, just got back from a trip to London, which was great. I've got a question about "Radio Clash". Now, all of us Clash fans have no doubt heard the original version, but I recently downloadedthe song, and its a different version. Joe seems to be improvising a bit more, and does alot of yelling. The melody is a bit different as well. Does anyone know about this version and when it was recorded Also, what album is it on?? Thanks!
  5. After listening to "The Ocean" by Led Zeppelin for the first time on headphones, I realized someone saying something before the music starts. It is something like this: "We've done four already, but now we're steady, and then they went 1, 2, 3, 4" Who is saying that? I'm thinking John Bonham, but I could be wrong. Thanks!
  6. I'm an avid fitness buff, so I love to fill up my Mp3 player with techno for when I hit the treadmill. These are songs I wouldn't normally listen under any other circumstances. Here are a few I would suggest: -Sandstorm by Darude -Battleflag by Low Fidelity All Stars -Madison Avenue- Don't Call me Baby -
  7. I love the song "God Give Me Strength." I first heard it in the movie "Grace of my Heart", which I also loved. I have a question: Did Elvis Costello do the song for the movie, or was the song just used in it? Thanks!
  8. Regarding Led Zep, I read the book written by their tour manager, or something of the like, and he recalled the band visiting India. They weren't so used to eating such spicy food, and needless to say, they were extrememly sick that night and could not sit down the next day. hehe
  9. "I can't Tell you Why" by the Eagles is a fantastic song, great choice! I love the version on "When Hell Freezes Over"
  10. I'm only 21, so I've only recently discovered the Clash, shortly before the untimely death of Joe Strummer. I was wondering two things. 1. Was he ever heavily into drugs? I know he enjoyed pot, but was he into taking anything heavier on a regular basis 2. What do you all think of him? I'm a huge fan and I think he was very intelligent(and good looking, in his own sort of way, hehe), and a great songwriter. I also enjoy his stuff with the Mescaleros. Thanks! Nicole
  11. I only know a few words. Its either "trudy" or "Truly" But I'm going to stick with Truly. Truly, Truly, truly I want you Truly, truly, truly I do Its not exactly slow, more of an alternative ballard, but not with that corny nasaly voice commonly found in those kinds of songs.
  12. Does anyone know what happened to the Count Five, who had a hit with "Psychotic Reaction" ?? That song is fantastic
  13. Well comparing Keith and John is a bit difficult, since they differed in their playing styles. Keith, who I am a big fan of(since discovering him when I was in Middle school in the mid to late 90's)to what I hear, wasn't much of a structured drummer, much how he lived his life. John seemed to have played a bit more structured, but then again, thats my opinion, and I have no training in percussion.
  14. I also have another lyric: "I said Hallelujah...."
  15. Also, its from the late 90's or possibly in 2000 or 2001. I'm thinking maybe its Groove Armada but I could be wrong.
  16. Gosh I only know a few, but here it goes: E.C. Eric Clapton? E.L.O. Electric Light Orchaestra C.S.N. & Y. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young
  17. The song was used as a promo for NBC's "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit". Its upbeat, good to run on the treadmill to. The only lyrics I can think of are: "A-tell me whats-a makin you bleed-a" and "on your knees" and at the word 'knees' a special effect is put into place that makes it sound like 'kneeeeeeees'. The same melody on a synthesizer or computer is continuous thoroughout the whole song. HELP! Thanks!
  18. My mother and her 5 siblings grew up in the sixties and seventies in Cambridge, Massachusetts. They lived in a triple decker house, and Sherman Kelly lived on the floor above them with his girlfriend, Charlotte. King Harvest would practice "Dancing in the Moonlight" day and night, and my aunt recalls having to fall asleep to the song being played live by the band above her bedroom, each and every night. Sherman and Charlotte invited Lisa(my aunt), who must have been maybe 5 years old, to plant tomatoes in their apartment one day, and she said that they were two really cool hippies with an apartment that reeked of pot. They last heard that Sherman hanged himself, but they didn't know if it was true. Does anyone know? Thanks! Nicole
  19. I just remembered. When the electric guitars are in full force, the man sings "I'll neeeever find someone quite like yooooou again" Thanks!
  20. There is a song that I have in my head, and forget the name and artist! It starts out with a fast acoustic guitar. Then a man starts singing, and it sounds very creepy. Then the electric guitars come in, and there is a chanting, in another language, sort of "A eeeeee, eee eee eee eee" maybe Indian? The eeeee's go up a note each time. It was played on Alternative rock stations when I was in high school, so it must have been in 97' and on. Once in the song, with just the acoustic guitars playing faintly, the singer goes "I.... I looked into your eyes, and clearrrrrr" I did once know the artist, and I'm thinking it was abbreviations, maybe including Radio, or Audio. Thanks!!! Nicole
  21. I have a story about this song and Sherman Kelly. They last heard that Sherman hanged himself, but they didn't know if it was true. Does anyone know? I thought this was a funny story. I found this board on google, trying to find info is Sherman did indeed commit suicide. Thanks! Nicole
