  3. How about this Elvis Presley movie song. Not the greatest song ever written, but it fits in nicely with what you are working on. CONFIDENCE Written by Sid Tepper & Roy C. Bennett] When everyone thought the world was flat Columbus said "It's round" He went down in history And America was found 'Cos He had confidence A little thing called confidence There's no job too immense when you've got Confidence With a "C" and an "O" and an "N" and an "F" And an "I" and a "D" and an "ENCE" Put 'em all together and what have you got Confidence You'll be surprised what you can do If you will only try Remember the tortoise and the hare Who had that famous race The speedy hare wound up nowhere And slow poke took first place 'Cos He had confidence A little thing called confidence There's no job too immense when you've got Confidence You'll be surprised what you can do If you will only try How do you know that you can't ride a rainbow in the sky You'll be surprised what you can do If you will only try All you need is confidence A little thing called confidence There's no job too immense when you've got Confidence With a "C" and an "O" and an "N" and an "F" And an "I" and a "D" and an "ENCE" Put 'em all together and what have you got Confidence Confi ..... Confi .... Confidence
  4. THE RUNNER Manfred Mann's Earth Band Through the night, through the dawn Behind you another runner is born Don't look back you've been there Feel the mist as your breath hits the air And it's underneath the moonlight Passing some Still your heart beats in the moonlight Like a drum Through the night, through the dawn Behind you another runner is born Don't look back, you've been there Feel the mist as your breath hits the air And it's underneath the moonlight Passing some Still your heart beats in the moonlight Like a drum And you will run your time A shooting star across the sky And you will surely cross the line To pass on the flame Sun come up, sun go down Hear the feet see the sweat on the ground Watch your step, keep your cool Though you can't see what's in front of you And it's underneath the moonlight Passing some Still your heart beats in the moonlight Like a drum And you will run your time A shooting star across the sky And you will surely cross the line To pass on the flame Pass on the flame Through the night, through the dawn Behind you another runner is born Don't look back, you've been there See the mist as your breath hits the air And it's underneath the moonlight Passing some Still your heart beats in the moonlight Like a drum
  5. It was recorded by "The Real Don Steele". Steele was an LA disc jockey during the 1960's.

  7. Did any of you ever hear of Al Viola or Tony Mottola ?
  8. If you want to see a prime example of good film-making, with a tight storyline, good acting, camerawork, editing, direction, and not a wasted second from start to finish......then look no further than Kubrick's "THE KILLING".
  9. It's called "Nothing To Say" and was written by Andrew Peterson, after having been inspired by the beauty and majesty of the Grand Canyon. The song was released on his album "Carried Along" in 2000.
  10. Also recorded by: Jackie DeShannon Waylon Jennings Narvel Felts Mud Smokie Allan Clarke (of The Hollies) Billy Joe Royal Linda Eder Michael Bolton
  11. I'll have to disagree with Bazooka's use of the word "cover" when describing "You Ain't Going Nowhere" by The Byrds. As I understand it, the word "cover" implies that somebody else had previously issued a commercial recording of the same song, which, in this case, Dylan had not. The Byrds simply recorded, and had a hit with, a song written by Dylan. This does not make it a "cover". If it does, then 90% of all records issued must be covers.
  12. Also versions by: Melissa Ethridge Wayne Fontana The Carpenters Bette Midler Jeff Barry The Fabulous Singlettes
  13. That's quite amazing, MuzikTyme

How about "Step Out" by Oasis: What she said She said to me Take me high on a mountain side She was dressed up in leopard skin And her soul would never be denied I met her down the disco in a beat up car She was burning down the road She looked just like a star in a Jaguar She needs to lighten her load And when you might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight You might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight What I said I said to her I'm alive when you walk that way Can you hear what I can hear? It's the sound of a brand new day She met me down a disco in a beat up car I was burning down the road I can be a star in a Jaguar I need to lighten my load Because you might think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight You might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight Well my whole life been sinking in the water I need a ship not your sweet lip tonight You might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight You might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight You might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight You might Think you're gonna cry It will be all right Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Step out tonight Tonight Tonight Tonight Tonight Tonight Tonight
  15. The Shangri Las originally.
  16. Just a minor point, but Tommy reynolds was replaced by Alan Dennison on the "Fallin' In Love" album. So the Group is actually Hamilton, Joe Frank & Dennison.
  17. That was MATRACA BERG with a song called " BACK IN THE SADDLE from her 1997 CD called "Sunday Morning To Saturday Night". The other singers joining in on that track were Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Suzy Bogguss and Patty Loveless.
  18. I'm assuming that I'm a good bit older than most of you, which probably accounts for my list: Kris Kristofferson Shel Silverstein Neil Sedaka Dolly Parton Harry Nilsson Jim Croce But you'd have to go a long way to improve on the lyrics of Cole Porter!
  19. But Wet Wet Wet didn't record "Love Is All Around" until 1994. And, although I may be wrong, I don't think they ever recorded "Another Day Goes By".
  20. Eddy Arnold had five on the trot from November 1st 1947 through to November 12th 1948 (on what was then called the Billboard Jukebox Chart) with: "I'll Hold You In My Heart (Till I Can Hold You In My Arms)" "Anytime" "Bouquet Of Roses" "Texarkana Baby" "Just A Little Lovin' (Will Go A Long, KLong Way)" He did it again in 1949 with two consecutive No.1s: "One Kiss Too Many" "I'm Throwing Rice (At The Girl I Love)" Hank Williams did it in 1953 with: "Kaw-Liga" "Your Cheatin' Heart" In 1956 it was Elvis Presley's turn with: "I Forgot To Remember To Forget" "Heartbreak Hotel" In 1964 Buck Owens did it: "My Heart Skips A Beat" "Together Again" It didn't happen again until 1982, when Willie Nelson did it with: "Always On My Mind" "Just To Satisfy You" (with Waylon Jennings) Can't find any instances of it happening since then. I suppose Elvis must be the only person to have done it on both the "Country" and the "Pop" charts.
  21. It's done by Pete Yorn in "Shrek 2".
  22. "Your Old Lady", first recorded by the Isley Brothers in the early 60's. The Chambers Brothers did a live version in 1965, and Steve Miller recorded it for the film "Revolution" in 1968. It was later recorded by David Lindley in 1981.
  23. On the soundtrack album it's credited to Pete Droge as Writer and Performer.
  24. CCR - 1969 Ike & Tina - 1971 I think it is safe to assume that the word tane should correctly be written as 'tane and is short for octane. The reference is to performing menial tasks such as washing dishes and pumping gas. Cheers.....Mel
