  1. I liked Airheads, to me it's the best movie he's been in, not his funniest performance, actually I think Michael Richards (Kramer from Seinfeld) was the funniest one in that movie, but a few of Sandler's films were decent. Billy Madison grew old on me too quickly it seems, but that's because just after it came out, I would watch it once a week for 2 years straight. It always happens, like you said about being lucky with the first couple movies. Bill Murray was able to stretch his career a little into the 90's with good films, like "What About Bob" & Groundhog Day. His latest films haven't been that great, I was completely bored by "Lost in Translation" The only funny part in that movie was with Mrs. Harris coming over & trying to seduce him. Mike Myers is starting to slip, Dana Carvey never took off the way I hoped he would in movies. I wasn't impressed by Master of Disguise, he could've starred in a better role. A lot of other SNL stars tried to do a movie & failed miserably, such as Al Franken (Stuart Smalley) & that lady who played Pat. Their movies were even stupider then their skits on SNL. It already is happening, IMO I never found him that funny to begin with, granted he's the best one on the show in the past 8 years.
  2. I agree with you Scott, if that song were twice as long, it would be even better. Thank You by Led Zeppelin could've had the second chorus repeated a few times, it's upsetting how they only sing that part once, it's a true beauty of a song.
  3. What songs have a guitar solo, or just a rhythm section that you think should've been made longer to better fill in the song ? -a few that I think so- Jimi Hendrix - Little Wing Led Zeppelin - Over the Hills & Far Away The Doors - The Crystal Ship (the organ piece in the middle) Eagles - Hotel California (prominent solo at the end) Rolling Stones - Honky Tonk Woman Pink Floyd - Careful with that Axe Eugene! (it's a long enough instrumental as it is, but I really love this one) Grateful Dead - Box of Rain
  4. I thought I posted in this thread the other day :: Anyways, they're a good band, not the most original, but still worth the listen. Bad Reputation is my favorite song. :guitar:
  5. I agree with David, it's for the best they weren't the media hype, & remained the underground part of the whole "Grunge Movement Mainstream" I had that on my comp, before I rebooted. It was a scratchy recording, but not a bad song. It sounds like a mix of the two bands.
  6. I'm pretty sure the answer to that is the Beatles, but I could be wrong.

Girl You Have No Faith In Medicine
  8. I picked up the Velvet Revolver album Contraband, it's not bad, but no where near as good as the previous bands, it's mostly just a slightly harder version of STP. Weiland doesn't really cover any issues he hasn't before, and Completely lacks the same arrogance that Axl professed. My favorite tracks are Headspace, Dirty Little Thing, & Spectacle.
  9. The Butterfly Effect was really good, probably one of the best this year. He goes back in time & keeps changing these events that happened to him, & it gets him in trouble. The ending was hard to understand, but I should've paid more attention. I don't want to ruin it for anybody though.
  10. I'm surprised American Pie by Don McLean hasn't been mentioned in this thread. A long, long time ago, I can still remember How that music used to make me smile And I knew if I had my chance, That I could make those people dance And maybe they'd be happy for a while But February made me shiver, With every paper I'd deliver Bad news on the doorstep, I couldn't take one more step I can't remember if I cried When I read about his widowed bride But something touched me deep inside The day the music died *Chorus* So bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry And them good old boys were drinking whiskey in Rye Singing this will be the day that I die, This will be the day that I die Did you write the book of love And do you have faith in God above, If the Bible tells you so? Now, do you believe in rock and roll Can music save your mortal soul And can you teach me how to dance real slow? Well, I know that you're in love with him 'Cause I saw you dancing in the gym You both kicked off your shoes, Man, I dig those rhythm and blues! I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck With a pink carnation and a pickup truck But I knew that I was out of luck The day the music died I started singing *Chorus* Now for ten years we've been on our own, And moss grows fat on a Rolling Stone But that's not how it used to be When The Jester sang for The King and Queen In a coat he borrowed from James Dean In a voice that came from you and me And while The King was looking down, The Jester stole his thorny crown The courtroom was adjourned, No verdict was returned And while Lennon read a book on Marx, The quartet practiced in the park And we sang dirges in the dark The day the music died We were singing *Chorus* Helter Skelter in a summer swelter The Byrds flew off with a fall out shelter Eight miles high and falling fast It landed foul on the grass The players tried for a forward pass With The Jester on the sidelines in a cast Now, the halftime air was sweet perfume While The Sargeants played a marching tune We all got up to dance, Oh, but we never got the chance 'Cause the players tried to take the field The marching band refused to yield! Do you recall what was revealed The day the music died? We started singing *Chorus* Oh, and there we were all in one place A generation lost in space With no time left to start again So come on Jack be nimble, Jack be quick Jack Flash sat on a candle stick Because fire is the devil's only friend Oh, and as I watched him on the stage My hands were clenched in fists of rage No angel born in Hell Could break that Satan's spell And as the flames climbed high into the night To light the sacrificial rite I saw Satan laughing with delight The day the music died He was singing *Chorus* I met a girl who sang the blues And I asked her for some happy news... But she just smiled and turned away I went down to the sacred store Where I'd heard the music years before But the man there said the music wouldn't play And in the streets the children screamed The lovers cried and the poets dreamed But not a word was spoken The church bells all were broken And the three men I admire most The Father, Son and the Holy Ghost They caught the last train for the coast The day the music died And they were singing Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry And them good old boys were drinking whiskey in Rye Singin' this will be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die They were singin' Bye, bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry And them good old boys were drinking whiskey in Rye Singing this will be the day that I die...
  11. Whenever I log onto here, I like to post as much as possible. I try to leave a significant comment, and make it a sentence or a paragraph long. Short responses are a common trend on forums, but not really that big of a deal either. The rankings don't matter to me & I could care less what any body else's is, I'm sure others feel the same way.
  12. I don't know if these count, from the original subject specified, but some of my favorite beats are... (I don't necessarily like all of these songs) White Stripes - Various songs Tool - 46&2 Pink Floyd - Run Like Hell Led Zeppelin - Trampled Under Foot Doors - Touch Me Tom Petty - Built to Last (Liquid Drums) Queen - Another One Bites the Dust (Bass) Queen / David Bowie - Under Pressure Genesis - Land of Confusion (mostly the opener & middle part) A bunch of techno & trance (widely DJ mixes) that I also like, I usually listen to it while driving around.
  13. I was browsing through the forum, when I found this... I was watching that, it's pretty cool how they have their heads bobbing to Page's guitar. Even though there isn't much scenario to the clip, with it mostly being the two kittens on the ship. My favorite part is where the kitten quotes "Our only goal will be the western shore." ------ Yeah I know, I bumped an old thread
  14. I don't really remember ever posting this thread LOL :: I missed that show, but heard about it. I would've of doubted that it was about drugs, seeing as how a good number of songs were related to that, when they weren't about sex or R&R excess. Thanks for bringing it to my attention though, I guess I have a forgetful memory.
  15. My favorite is Steve Polychronopolous, the video is even funnier than the song, but I haven't seen it in almost 10 years now.
  16. There's the part where Alex is subjected to an injection & forced to watch video clips while he is hallucinating. And as Tenacious previously posted, there's the bit where they mixed milk & drugs into solids & made them available to anybody.
  17. Hey Tara I checked out those songs on that site, & they do indeed sound reminiscent of Incubus, with a slightly more dynamic sound. That?s interesting how they wrote a song in your honor, I may have to check out their album sometime soon. ~Kenne
  18. no problem, I still don't really know what the rankings mean, or if there's a significance in it, I haven't even checked my own to see what I am.
  19. Is this song a metaphor for dying from drugs or being an inhabitant in a clostrophobic area, any opinions or thoughts of the song? It's the following track to Fade To Black on the 20 year old Ride the Lightning album.
  20. My favorite recording isn't up there, which is Live in Kansas City. For studio albums, I would go with Velvet Underground & Nico. It has some of my favorite songs like Heroin, I'm waiting for the man, & Black Angel Death Song.
  21. Try looking at this list It mentions something about a 103rd Street Gospel & a few others, this song has been covered many times.
  22. There's a scandanavian DJ named Darude who's first single was called Sandstorm in 2001. That might be it, otherwise there's no searchable information on that quote.
  23. Led Zeppelin IV, from what's listed. It's not my favorite album by them, nor do I feel it's their greatest. Darkside of the Moon is another good choice, but the overall greatness of Pink Floyd was expressed throughout all of their set, which makes it hard to select a certain album to represent them. The greatest album of all time, IMO was Revolver, which wasn't listed.
  24. Pink Floyd - In the Flesh pt 2 / Waiting for the Worms / The Trial (I had CrAzY experiences, where this section of the Wall gave me tickles. A lot of Weird Al Yankovich songs are funny, especially Smells Like Nirvana, Amish Paradise, Which Backstreet Boy is Gay, & Couch Potato. Geri Halwell - Look at Me (uh how 'bout no, your not as hot as you think) --edit--- Crazy Don just reminded me of another one I forgot, Ray Stevens. My favorites are The Pirate Song, Mississippi Squirel Revival, & Osama Yo' Momma
