  1. I think this is the longest we've ever had to keep nominations opened. It's been open 3 and 1/2 weeks and we still only have 7 nominators. I see some members who have nominated in the past year or two, signed in from time to time, but they don't nominate or play any of the other games anymore. Even some moderators haven't logged-in in ages. People are slowly disappearing. Seems like facebook is getting most of the attention, instead. Oh, well. Que Sera, Sera (as Doris Day would say). Us few die-hards will keep the message board alive but it's hard to keep the Top Ten alive with so few nominations. We may have to retire it.
  2. While Motörhead frontman Lemmy has battled some health issues over the past couple of years, the band is ready to come roaring back this summer with a new album, titled Bad Magic. The record, the hard-rocking group’s 22nd studio effort, will be released August 28. The 13-track collection includes tunes with such ominous titles as “Victory or Die,” “Evil Eye,” “Teach Them How to Bleed,” “Tell Me Who to Kill,” and “Choking on Your Screams.” In addition, Queen guitarist Brian May puts in a guest appearance on a song called “The Devil.” The album comes to a close with a cover of the classic Rolling Stones tune “Sympathy for the Devil.” Bad Magic will be available as a standard CD, a digipak, a vinyl LP, a limited-edition box set, and a digital download. In conjunction with the album’s release, Motörhead is planning an as-yet-unannounced 40th anniversary North American tour with Anthrax. The trek will get underway in mid-August and culminate with the 2015 edition of the band’s Motörboat fan cruise, which runs from September 28 to October 2. Motörhead also has plenty of international dates lined up, and currently is on tour in Europe. Here is the full track list for Bad Magic: “Victory or Die” “Thunder & Lightning” “Fire Storm Hotel” “Shoot Out All of Your Lights” “The Devil” “Electricity” “Evil Eye” “Teach Them How to Bleed” “Till the End” “Tell Me Who to Kill” “Choking on Your Screams” “When the Sky Comes Looking for You” “Sympathy for the Devil” Article Credit: ABC Radio

  8. Other Voices and Full Circle, the two studio albums The Doors recorded as a trio after frontman Jim Morrison‘s death, will be reissued September 4 as separate vinyl LPs and packaged as a two-CD set. For years, the albums only could be purchased as digital downloads, and they’ve never been released together on CD. Doors members Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore began working on the material for Other Voices in Los Angeles while Morrison was in Paris taking a planned hiatus from the group. When the singer died in the French capital July 3, 1971, the surviving band members completed the record with Manzarek and Krieger taking over vocal duties. Other Voices was released October of that year and yielded the singles “Tightrope Ride” and “Ships w/ Sails.” The Doors continued on as a trio and put out the more funk- and jazz-inspired Full Circle in August of 1972. One single was released from the album, “Get Up and Dance.” The band decided to break up in 1973, although Manzarek, Krieger and Densmore went on to work together again on a few occasions over the years. Manzarek died in May 2013. Both records were remastered for release this year by original producer Bruce Botnick. The LP versions will be pressed on 180-gram vinyl and will feature packaging and artwork replicating those of the original release. The CD set will include a bonus track, “Treetrunk,” which initially was available as the B-side of “Get Up and Dance.” Here are the track lists for Other Voices and Full Circle: Other Voices “In The Eye Of The Sun” “Variety Is The Spice Of Life” “Ships w/Sails” “Tightrope Ride” “Down On The Farm” “I’m Horny, I’m Stoned” “Wandering Musician” “Hang On To Your Life” Full Circle “Get Up And Dance” “4 Billion Souls” “Verdilac” “Hardwood Floor” “Good Rockin'” “The Mosquito” “The Piano Bird” “It Slipped My Mind” “The Peking King And The New York Queen” “Treetrunk” (appears only on the two-CD set.) 14. The girl that originally asked this question (Kiana), asked it in 2004. There was an answer on page 2 of that thread in 2014 from a member named Fred Mike. Here is the link to the original question for those that haven't seen it: The song he posted is titled "Canto del Pilon" or "Canto de Pilon." It is a Venezuela folk song from long ago. There have been many versions from different artists throughout the years. If you type "Canto del Pilon" or "Canto de Pilon" into the search box on youtube, you can listen to many versions from different artists. Here are a few that I found: Quinteto Contrapunto did a version in the '60s: "Canto de Pilon" - Quinteto Contrapunto Maria Marquez did a version in the '80s: "Canto del Pilon" - Maria Marquez and Frank Harris Milk & Sugar did a remix of Maria and Frank's '80s version in 2013: "Canto del Pilon" - Remix by Milk & Sugar feat.
