  1. Cindy it ain't George! In case anyone has missed the third hint, it is a Rap artist, and is a current hit.
  2. bluesboy, you have got to be kidding me with the "Spice Girls"? Madonna is a very sound guess, however not the third. I promise to get the answer out, and also to explore the Country scene for exclusion from that branch of music. Muzik pointed it out, and there may be something to it? I'd rather hold out until more have written, or given a chance to provide their answers, and when I can post the answer and address the Country music curve ball the Muzik has thrown me. A very real and honest curve ball, but I admit to exclude a genre hear would be inacurate. I don't wish to be innacurate, and hope some patience would generate some very interesting viewing here.
  3. Musik, I assume that you are right about the Country artists, and recall some very energetic times during Alabama's hayday. Perhaps this is even wrong to include one genre, and not include another (in my thinking). I'll research this some more, perhaps I'm guilty of doing the same thing of genre exclusion as others have been; (being perfectly honest about the whole thing). I'll have to get back to everyone on this one, and actually, it brings up the question of diversity among all genre of music. How do we know that old Ludwig did'nt do it himself in his time. It can get that anal! Not to say this is, and Muzik brings a good point to the table in all fairness.
  4. BluesBoy, very good attempts with the BeeGees, and Michael Jackson. Actually, I first thought Michael Jackson should be in there somewhere, and as he has broken a number of records this was one in which he fell short. The BeeGees was also a good one; a much understated groop because of their disco sell-out (not in my mind, but spoken of in public).
  5. Sorry about the delay. I work for a living and also have a life outside of SongFacts. BluesBoy, you identified two of the most obvious! The Beatles, and Elvis. But what is the third? I'll give you a hint: Carl guessed wrong, but his Genre be right!
  6. you've hit two, but how about the third? Good on you for the two, but the third is so recent you'd not believe how hot it is. Actually, as skewed as this forum seems to be to a particular format of music, I do'nt believe any of the regulars can even come close! Give it a try, and see if you can figure this one out? Muzik, I believe you might have the answer? Riddle me this: Like a well built machine with a red line that really "Kicks" it out, this band might be on the edge of something great in a different genre almost never mentioned here except for the hatred column.
  7. What three groups or artists are the only three to post a number one hit only to be put out of the number one spot by a second number one hit of their own?
  8. Don't forget to include Black Sabbath, David Bowie, Santana, Jethro Tull, The Allman Brothers, and The Doobie Brothers.
  9. I'm with you FLoyd, I think much is overlooked toward the roots. You are absolutely gifted to identify those pioneers of modern rock.
  10. Carl what an amazing post by you! You actually stand up and take a stand on a subject barring any opposition, I think you actually have spoken here. Ask Musik to explain my post. What an intelligent man this poster be! To coin a phrase, or post "Riddle Me this"?
  11. I like your list, and agree with a couple. Others I admit I do not know unless you play them for me, but why would you exclude Soundgarden and put that hack band Nirvana in there? Trully they only had a couple of hits, and Soundgarden was honestly in the Seattle scene before Nirvana. What is all the hype about Nirvana? Is it a cultish sort of rememberance of Kurt's tragic suicide, because I admire the man's skills, but think he was a chicken [bleep] for running out like he did. Suicide is a chicken crap way of showing how selfish you can be to leave your loved ones behind without thought or careing toward their well being, is'nt it? I'm sorry, I liked their music, but I got no respect for the man! Understand I like Nirvana, but I'm growing tired of the whole thing, as Nirvana being rated in the top ten of music history is not right. They had a couple of good songs, and they totally took away the lime light from more deserving bands like Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and others.
  12. Cahah, I'm trully glad to see your writen articulation is now well formed. I originally seen it as stretched to make some sort of point. I'd like to know what that point was? You keep on going Girlfriend, if I can honestly say that? What town in Missouri did you say you were from? You see that is my home state, and I'm with you hun!
  13. Honestly speaking, both had a great impact for completely different reasons. Jimmy was a ground breaker with his ability to be way ahead of his time. Eric is so much smoother than Jimmy and equally ahead of the other doing the same thing. Here is an honest question? Who has more talent: Stevie Ray Vahaughn or Jimmy Hendrix? For a clue, should anyone need one, listen to both artists versions of "Little Wing", than judge for yourselves. Not to dis on Jimmy because I love the man's talent, but he ain't it in the long term scheme of things. He revolutionized the Electric, but as bad as we all think we are, there is always someone to come along and humble us.
  14. Don't know that this post is befitting of your reply requests, however, the best sound engineering project for an album would definately go to "Dark side of the moon". As an LP on vinyl; it is the best recorded album of all time. Got a copy myself, and the CD cannot do it justice like the LP can! So much more power in the vinyl than there could ever be from the CD's. I only wish that those who would deni this had some experience with the LP's before judgeing.
  15. Are you just funnin with this one? It is widely excepted that Freddie was gay! Who is to judge where he got his death warrant! It is sad that we mourn the loss of such talent, and he kept it to himself for so long.. I wonder how many people would have thought about protection would he have came out publically earlier? I honestly think that he could have been a spokesperson for AIDS, and even if he'd saved one life that would have been worth it! Rock on Freddie, you live because of your music! Not because of your sexual preference.
  16. Could it possibly be "I'm Gonna be a big star Someday", by "Bad Company"?
  17. You are likely to wake up the dead with this post! John Bonham is only "The Greatest" drummer to ever hit the music scene! I'd advise you to re-think your post here, and be respectfull of the dead!
  18. Catherine, your list includes several Grammy winners, and a bunch of Platinum album recipients. How would you explain their have the worst voices. The general public would'nt agree I guess. But you go girlfriend, you are entitled to your oppinions! I can think of a few like: 1. Chris Kristoffersen, Great Song writer though he should'nt attempt to sing at all. 2. Yoko Ono, definately not a singer! 3. Myself, even in the shower; unless my sweetie be there, and it's all good. I'd be singing in keys I never knew existed. 4. Bob Dylan is an aquired taste, who acctually has/had a good singing voice, but chose a style that made him rich. (explain that one)?. 5. Celine Dionne actually has an incredible voice. Why do people pick on her so? 6. Nobody that I have noticed posting here picked "Blondie", who looked incredible in her birthday suit at one time, but actually is only a descent casual singer. 7. Neal Young. An aquired taste, but several million dollars richer because of that unique voice, incredible song writing abilities, and a gift with the guitar that is God worthy. 8. Michael Bolton can't sing! Sister the music might not be your choice, but you got to lay off the Crack Pipe! 9. What about the late great Roy Orbison? Alot of people would say: Who stepped on the cat? But what a talent to millions. 10.How about Brian Setzer? The Stray Cats gigs? I liked it, but could be construed as bad. 11. Dwight Yokum, who I think is amazing, but I know a great multitude that would stop after a step and hurl. 12. Finally Willie Nelson. What a great entertainer, but can he really sing. I personally like some individuallity, and a unique voice like his, and you can't deny the millions of fans who like his stuff.
  19. Funny stuff Floyd, but I think it would be money well spent, don't you? Even if the release dates are'nt accurate, I think they are all memorible, and worth the recording prospect for posterity!
  20. My urge was to drive you out of my arse with my morning consistutional, but I will refrain. Let me ask you this; would you have someone dis your music choices. I think Nickelback is purity and poise in motion. One of the most briliant young bands in a stagnant music scene. Great to voice your music oppinion, but add a bit; not just a slam please.
  21. It occured to me that other forums receive more attention than this one. What could be more important to a site such as this, than the encouragement of answers to questions people have about the music they just cannot remember all of the "SongFacts" too?
  22. How about these for current plays on local Classic Rock stations accros this nation: "All Right Now", by FREE. "Classical Gas", by Anson Williams Don't remember title- Mountain Don't remember title- Aldo Nova
  23. Muzik, your dead on in my oppinion. At least as far as the most poplular public playing of the song! No other version has ever crossed my existence. Not one of my personal fav's, but I here it played so often that I know your right. Take Care Muzik.
  24. Sorry Cat, that was the time posted on your post, originally@. No dis comeing from me here! Just trying to make heads and tails here? I still think your gorgeous though!
  25. Damn 55, your right on the money dude! So in touch with this music your my hero here!
