My screen name obviously comes from BB(blues boy)King, one of the greats of the modern blues era (especially his '50s tracks)... I just love '50s and 60's blues and R&B... :guitar: Edit time... why not expand it to 10 or 12 hours (for a trial period, say 10 days) and see how it goes...

I grew up in jr high and high school orchestra during the mid - late '60's. All we played were musicals and popular songs from the '50s and '60s. I remember... West Side Story South Pacific My Fair Lady Sound of Music Cabaret Oklahoma Kismet Annie Get You Gun Showboat among others... what a golden age for musicals

I also have about 2800 songs, about 2000 from kazaa and the rest from my cd library. But everything is predominantly pre 1980, mostly 50's and 60's. Cindy, I too had a symbolic first download on the old Napster. Years and years of looking for a song from 2 out of print albums (4 Deuces - W.P.L.J. ) took 10 seconds to download. After that I was hooked. Way back when, upgrading from cassettes, my symbolic first buy cd was Electric Ladyland / Hendrix.

How about a band already built. Chick Corea - keyboards Al DiMeola - guitar Stanley Clarke - bass Lenny White - drums A true jazz fusion super group, put out a couple of albums ('75-'76), then all went on to successful solo careers.

In a nutshell, blues mostly features simple 3-chord progressions. It grew out of African spirituals and worksongs of the Southern U.S. Blues is the forefather of Jazz. Jazz is like a son or nephew of the blues. Both originated here in the U.S.
